Believe, forex market is open on Christmas, as EUR/USD again went up to 1.4388 level after closed last night at 1.4357 range.

I am still not clear that whether the trend changed to bullish or is it merely a profit taking on the eve of Christmas and new year festive season. Will see on monday, expecting to fall on thursday initial job losses claim data and core durable demand which is showing +ve towards USD.

I have 2 SHRT positions at 1.4278 and stoploss at 1.4450.

first chart is simple. the highs have crossed the upper trendline of this pair.. next we need the lows to cross... the next part is what fools many... you dont just cross the line for reversals.. you have to start making new highs and lows not just cross.. its a stair pattern.for a true reversal. eu did this for months without the stairs. ive waited for months for the stairs..when we started respecting bear chart i knew it would happen soon.. the bigger tf the bigger the reversal. . during consolidation many say the trend line was broken but you need both...this one is over a month old. and has the classic W. so all we need now is bottom to cross that pink trend line then light green one. and the step pattern.. i got levels i feel are important in light blue.. these would be past levels that would seem to hit more on a smaller tf chart.

IF we continue with this move headed north second chart will give clues if levels are respected. they are bullish..the past chart levels are bearish. so your more concerned with the bullish ones.. they trump bearish ones when everything else is equal. in other words for this to be a reversal the smaller red numbers have to be respected.. the bigger levels purple are experimental.. but if its respected this could be a huge move.. if so classic round bottom is under construction.. another clue is cat laid off.. baltic dry shipping is down..so commoditys and their pairs may soon follow.. we already have cracks.. imfuo time will make fools look good or look foolish... not their yet.. but worth watching.. imfuo .. no matter what pair you trade or bias... now watch what the blogs and goldmen ect.. start saying ...soon.. this is still extremily hard for me to believe. but its there.. first st target for red chart is 6806.. but we still need ass to cross and steps..

Great posts Gator. I´m still lack in a lot of information and how to use it in the market but with the little I know I have come to the similar thoughts as yours about the EURUSD, I´ll be glad to read more from your exceptional posts.

Yes, same to you too.Better forget about it but no , the little ltl still respected ,bull is not over yet.Lower tf building up & h4 channel can be broken at the top , daily has no objection here.and as a bear can expect another reversal H&S development in H1 , price may fall to 1.4325, back 1.4367 & then fall to the bottom & next try up to break H4 to much higher level for D.

Well this time last year we had a bull move - 21st-29th of Dec (after a major bear market move had started the week prior).. that to me is a text book holiday reversal. The bull move was not sustained last year. Will be interesting to see if it will be this year.

no - they were talking about reversal pattern - with an example grafic showing Euro against commodity pairs. Discussing if two daily candles soustainable or not. Anyway - today the prices should be not much representative for a real useful technical analysis approach - as all major markets are closed now - and none of the institutionals or traditional 'big boys' would trade at such a time...

But we can't ignore that there are some 'internet minipippers' - who are still sitting in front of their screens and pushing the triggers...

We will see on Sunday - Wellington is the first institutional place which is opening on Sunday (about 13:00 EST or 18:00 GMT or 19:00 CET or something like that) - and a few hours later - when asian session is starting in Tokyo until London (which is a bigger FX market place) - then we will see if those 'minipippers' won't be on the wrong side - as they do have no serious counterparts today.

Possibly they give us some nice and very impulsive and strong shorting opportunities...

Sure, and I would use one of those opportunities over 1.50, cause that's where it's going.

Dollar would be week 2010-2011 with projected price 1.50 in 2010

and 1.60 in 2011. I read those targets of other economist reports.

Faster Economy would recover, lower Dollar will go, cause who needs

protection with 0% interest rates when everything is booming.

So, if you believe Dollar going up then SELL EURO and I would be buying,

that's why there is Market where Sellers and Buyers set the price.

it dont matter what pair you trade. it will have bearing on all. cad is a commodity pair mostly. but it is one that is closer to usd then others commodity pairs. so its kinda a hybrid. at times it dont matter what others do. cad does its own thing. it can be a hard pair to trade because it makes its own rules. there was a drop a couple of years back vs. usd that never really retraced. that went on for months to multi decade lows. then one day it stopped and reversed like a spring and never retraced that way for a while either. those who held on to expert opions were X forex traders not long after. nothing wrong with a belief of something. but forex will rape all those who dont adapt. in the last move there were many who drew the line in the sand at 46xx. and bought till then and even further. after all it has to go back they thought and it surely might. then continued to hold as margin calls got closer. if they are right they can always jump back in. but with an mt account you cant. you also miss other trades. they did not stick to their plan.. jacko's trading is something they want to seek. so you have to be nimmble enough and adapt. look at your monthly indis. but since most dont trade in larger tf this probably dont matter. at least thats what many think. knowing levels can be quite rewarding. off track and is rant over.. merry christmas.. spend some time with the ones that dont think your so bad.

still could jump back into yesterdays chart but we did blow extention level by 4 pips. and much past 94...i left white levels in because things may just resume..but normaly i discard once high level breached. when charts are extended and levels work. we usaully resume. respecting levels will tell us. but since chart looks like it may contain it. and do seem to respect levels..thus far.
there was also red chart also on this...
Hi gatorinla ... I know you love those lines but in fact I never understood how you trade using so many horizontal lines on your chart but I've found something which may ease your work of drawing. This thing does the job of drawing them automatically.

Just check it out. They produce results like this
