I left Cable 2 weeks ago to focus on EUR/USD. in those 2 weeks I haven't had a lot of time to trade. However when I do get time, I can't make any sense of where this pair is goin. I have watched tremendous opportunity come ......and go. Is this a difficult time to analyze movements of the pair, or am I just to new to trading to see it?

Hmm, I noticed that I trade EURUSD very rarely, I trade cable, aussie, kiwi more often than EUR.

When I was beginner trader i traded only EURUSD

do you try to switch to other pairs?

The world has more pretty things than the EUR/USD

I personally trade it as it's a moderately volatile pair, but I prefer the AUD/USD for lower volatility pairs, and USD/CAD for higher volatility pairs.

I started out with cable and am sticking to it. I tried fiber (eurusd) but it's too boring. It takes it's own time to get moving. I tried other pairs too but eventually just end up trading cable.

It's been weeks that EURUSD has stubbornly been moving up and down within a sideward channel, and in a rather chaotic way at that.

I havent traded EURUSD is a long time myself too.

Interesting....fiber?? never heard of the Euro referred to as that before. Not even by the clearing house traders......

I haven't heard it called that before but if you google for the term and eurusd it seems to be quite popular. :

I would agree with Nader about its volatility with the aussie below. For higher volatility I would go for cable or swissy rather than the loony.

However boring the euro might be it has the best spreads around.

Agreed Iso. I assume that the loony is the USD/CAD as far as I know, excuse me, I am not a westerner, that's why I am not familiar with those nick names : I guess I will need some time to get familiar with them

The point is USD/CHF is strongly correlated to the EUR/USD, the cable is also correlated in 70% of the times with the EUR/USD. On the other hand, the loony is a completely different story, so basically I can be comfortable taking a long dollar position in the EUR/USD and a short dollar position in the USD/CAD and still profit from both...lol...

As a noob I'm sure I'm not supposed to be switching pairs, but I trade by graphs. I've traded EURUSD (no luck there), but I've made a lot on AUDJPY (very low volatility, less today), and USDJPY (only because there's a strong uptrend thus far)...but I'm a technician....everyone is different!
