Why so much gloom and doom on this thread all the time? The sky is always falling it seems. Isn't this about making pips? Who cares if things are burning to the ground, were you on the right side of the trade? There must be a lot of losing pips with all the complaining, if you hauled in a bunch of pips you'd probably be sending Ben a 1-800-flowers gift.

well i think that if(when) some major country default nobody will be really interested in how many pips you did today...this crisis will be nothing in

btw made quite a few today.
it started badly but in the end everything reversed and i got out of every trade with tp.
only 1 sl.

what makes people long at this level ? not see any bull arround. some more retracements should be good though for bears to move to the base again & retest.

Maybe. We'll have to see. Much of the fed "printed" money for tarp and other things has not actually made it's way to the market. Banks are just sitting on the money. Whether or not this new money will have an inflationary impact, and the timing of that impact, is yet to be determined.

I sort of see this but that would be a seriously major thing to happen and I guess I'm a bit more optimistic about the world collapsing. I was more referring to the constant sky is falling, Ben is the devil, etc, type of discussions. Every time I read a big rant on the economy I picture someone who has just hit a big S/L

All this is a consolidation before the next big drop off. Its might break up but odds are on it going down at the moment. Its sitting on a weekly trendline so you can argue it will rise nicely of this..But trendlines levels are there to be broken.

its may range for weeks or days 14580ish---14720ish give and take.

Does anyone think this is the most plausable explanation as to whats happening for now..

Some trade technically (charts). Some trade fundamentally (news). Some both. Some neither and just roll the dice.

may be but I thought all trendlines have been broken beforehand ,even daily ,monthly channels through the bottom & now near bottom of the weekly to reach only & broken.

oil just took a bit of a tumble but seems to have gotten some footing just now. gold also seems to be at a support albeit temporary. I see this going lower after this breather. For now I'm scalping both sides of .4650
