so its only the position of the ema in relation to the box...

Hi Austin,

USD/CAD doesn't really make much sense for a morning GMT breakout as trading volume would be seriously low. Breakouts tend to occur after a low period of volatility then a high one. Ie. NY session would be a better bet imo.

close_order_at_hour: 17
close_order_at_minute: 0
move_new_SL_when_T1_BE: true
var_from_entry: 28
var_from_TP1: 0
-= MA setting =-
MA_idicator: true
MA_TF: 15
MA_period: 32
OCO: true
-= Week_no_settings =-
all days: on


With this settings we have:
Best scenario: +165 pips / day
Worst scenario: -90 pips / day

Other scenarios: +15 pips /day; +75 pips / day

Please test it... let's improve that EA to have more accurate signals!
And share your best settings.

DT, you're right about volatility, but in the case of USD/CAD, it has a very high win ratio
It often breaks out at 7am GMT
I am going to keep my eye on this one (especially if I can get a good spread on it at one of the FX brokers)

Hi, sorry for late response, i have tested other days but didn't find better result than monday, i think it's better to increase lot size on monday than trade other days, what do you think ?

my stop is actually at 30 pips and i don't use TP3 all weeks, depending support and resistance than i had study the monday morning. for example if i see an weekly or monthly S/R at say, 80 110 pips i don't use TP3.

Flyer, I think the answer to your question is this. The lower of the two slope lines would not have change colour until that breakout candle had closed by which time you are too late. The price has already moved well out of the box.

hello everyone....I was reading through the thread and I must say I like what I see. Very simple to use. I do have one question after reading through all the threads. Does anyone have any opinions on ufgators post because it does make sense to me about trading with less that 2:1 risk vs reward. I was doing some research and it does seem that the professionals are around 50 to 60% right. When I did the math I came up with the following:

Entry with 2 orders
SL of average of 50 pips since it is different on each trade.

2 orders means I am risking 100 pips

First take profit target of 30 pips
Second take profit target of 60 pips
Total profit 90 pips.

So I am risking 100 pips to make 90.
If I make 10 trades and win 50% of the time then I am losing money.
5 x 100 = 500
5 x 90 = 450
Net = -50

Now if I make just one entry order and close half of my position
SL is 50 pips

first take profit of 30 pips
Second tp at 60 pips but half the lot size

Risk = $500 on standard account lot size

First TP = $150.00 (Half Lot size = $5.00 X 30 Pips)
Second TP = $300.00 (Half Lot size = $5.00 X 60 Pips)

Total Risk = $500.00
Total Reward = $450.00 providing they both hit their targe.

Another major thing to think about here is that I have seen the SL much larger than 50 pips. I have seen it over 100 sometimes. Keeping this in mind, no matter how large the SL is the TP will always be the same so the rr will be even less like he says.

So what I am really wanting to know here is what kind of percentage of winning trades does this system produce on an average?

And what kinds of results does it produce when the market is consolidating instead of trending?
