DislikedI made my 30 pips easy today on my 15 min chart.. I will post a snapshot when I get home from wok in the afternoon. I am now watching gbp/jpy on a 15 min chart for the 7-9 big dog strategy. will post results later..Ignored
A difficult day but here is how my big dog trades turned out
EUR JPY (box 1) hit target 44 pips
GBP USD (box 1) reached 5 pips short of target (40 pips) and sold out + 30 pips
USD CAD (box 2) it reached 1 pip from my breakeven rule and I moved my stop anyway because it had already risen a long way. Just as well stopped out for breakeven
You can find all the rules on the other thread under my posts. Be careful because there have been some refinement to the rules so best to work back from the end
Can you post the rules again or maybe the link to the current valid rules
There so many rules and a hard work to find out wich are the right one...

Hi Bob,
I have had another look at the zigzag lines and I cannot recommend that you use them. They are not matching up exactly with the lines from my other software that I use and I have tried to replicate them by adjusting the setting but with no luck. One of the problems is that I am using a 2 min chart and as you know you do not get a 2min chart in Metatrader

I have come up with a different box breakout criteria for GBP USD, EUR JPY and USD CAD for both the New York and London sessions. The criteria is different for each session and each pair. I know that this does make it more complicated than one style suits all but I have been looking for the optimum criteria for each pair and each session. You can find the criteria here:

Please note I have changed the rules in relation to the sloping lines. I am now using a 15 min chart with 200, 3, 0 and 100, 3, 0 and as long as both lines are pointing in the same direction on the last bar of the box
USD CAD London Session post # 1978

You also need to read post #2191 which explains how you can come away with some money instead of being stopped out at breakeven if it does not reach its profit target
Lastly please read my post #1820 on this thread as it explains what I mean by the price trending just as the box is ending and how I deal with this. Please note that the settings for the zigzag line do not match the ones that I use on my software so I cannot vouch for their reliability
