I got about 23 pips going north, and went short at 4920. Maybe early..will add higher to 4967..small positions only. Targeting 4715 for low this week but maybe we won't get there. Maybe we'll pass it. Levels above I have charted from previous data are 4922, 4935, 4950, 4967, and 4992. Below 4903, 4885, 4872, 4852, 4841, 4820, 4800, 4760, 4743, 4732, 4715.

e/u'll probly range <25pips around here until after the sushi break. I see a nice wad of EZ news coming starting 0800GMT. Maybe that'll get things started again. bbl

Morning all . just come to see how actually eurusd played after opening.nice bull as expected inverted h&s played & another may play again to reach 1.4963. then it should go back to 1.4875-42 again if wants to.1.4932 one stop area if want to 1.48 so soon & break down. so a short taken here for tp 1.4875.

yes it is was only looking for fast pips i out already but short again at 4942

perhaps not , pa does not showing any weakness in bull , may not at all before 63 ( the cretical area) & even if not weak will reach to 1.5. anyway should be carefull taking too & fro trades.should take some rest( specially for bull than me ) , excess of anything is bad.

Recently, The Fool asked me a question, exactly how much in dollars does it take to shift the E/U market by a pip?

Well it is a hard one to answer, but I have begun compiling some info on this.

Here is some starter data obtained by observing the market statistics and timing:

This level I have 4935 corresponds with the upper BB on the 1hr could be stopping point, as you can see we haven't violated this by much in recent history. If not 4967 will seem a fair stretch to me unless market has something up its sleeve. If so fair enough, cut my loss and enter higher. But I don't see why to expect that just yet-bull was expected.

Tried to explain this concept to The Fool last week, not sure if he got it:

As you SURE that a certain AMOUNT is necessary to move a price bar and not just a certain PRICE???

Let me put it another way and maybe it'll explain why I'm wondering if the right QUESTION is being asked:

Take the Dow.

Now let's say that HYPOTHETICALLY speaking there were ONLY TWO TRADERS TRADING on a given day. Let's say that the Dow is at 8 000 at the open. Trader 'A' wants to buy Dow at say 9 000 and Trader 'B' is prepared to sell Dow at 9 000. Buyer meets seller on price and the Dow would move to 9 000. Now obviously in a 'normal and proper' trading day: if the aforementioned were to occur then it would be nothing but a spike.

The point I'm attempting to make (or should I say the question I'm asking) is this:

VOLUME would be required to sustain a move in price in one direction or another (in both currencies and stocks) BUT IF there was just one single order put in by Bank 'A' to sell say GBP/JPY at a certain ('way out') price and Bank 'B' is prepared to buy GBP/JPY at that price, then price would move??? It would not STAY there UNLESS there was VOLUME to support the move but this trade WOULD have made the price bar move???

I guess I'm asking more than stating facts here.

If I'm right then it's not a particular AMOUNT that's going to make the bar move: it would simply need a single transaction to occur at a given (higher or lower) price to make it move which IS the original question is it not???

Put it another way:

Let's say that somebody wanted to buy 100 TRILLION GBP/JPY (if the sheer AMOUNT was going to move price then I'm almost sure THAT amount would move it). If they simply put their order in at the current price: there would be no change in price assuming that they found a seller at their order price.

And another way:

Oil, for example, only moves because buyer meets seller on price. If nobody is prepared to BUY Oil at $250 per barrel then the price is never going to get there. But if somebody is trying to sell Oil at $250 per barrel and and buyer meets seller at $250 per barrel and the transaction is concluded then the price bar would spike to that level.

If you can understand the above "price goes where the orders are and needs volume to sustain" then you can understand VSA and the market in general very quickly.

That is why we say, rising on falling volume is bearish and testing the lows on low volume is extremely bullish.

Please let me know if you understood this concepts TF.

usually i will short at resistance, but this move seems pretty fast and recently have been quite volatile. Got caught before when I knew the trend was going up and trying to short for a few pips, was not worth the risk.
