price seems to have stalled a bit after those DNT's expired, there was a small push down but the price rebounded very quickly... i think its going to take a fair bit of momentum to push further down... unless something drastic happens i'm inclined to stick with longs for a bit longer...

i lost over half my capital in just 3 weeks, im back over half now but the last couple of days have been freaky.

trust me on this..forget the money concentrate on reading the market..use descent mm relative to yur balance...when u consistantly grow increase gradually...doing it the other way round..only leads to failure long term..why?

4860 is holding 4845 next does not seem to stop the bears either, she is starting to follow the TL down.

If 4845 breaks, 4825 next followed by 4800

As much as we would like it...things cant go in a straight line...there are bound to be bounces off Support and resistance...its our job to decipher if the bounce is temp or longer term.

I'm long again, though at 1/4 my normal size. Will average down if price reaches 1.4800. Stop if daily TL breached

DNT's are becoming more popular in forex
You're talking about collateral management side of the transaction, rather than the trade itself. The collateral required from one deal would be netted against the mark to market value of all other transactions with that particular counterparty. This net collateral calculation process is in place to mitigate counterparty credit risk.

As has been pointed out by other posters, the buyer of the DNT will receive a payout if spot remains within the range at all time from inception to expiry.

In order to enter the specific parameters of the DNT contract, the buyer will pay the seller (the option writer) an upfront option premium. The amount of this premium is calculated by the seller in order to cover their anticipated hedging costs at the time when the deal is struck.

The writer of the DNT option will hedge their exposure through selling straddles* in the OTC interbank options market. This is what is known as a vega hedge or, in simple terms, a hedge against a drop in volatility.

The writer will also execute a hedge through either buying or selling EURUSD spot (a delta hedge) in the OTC market. The size of this hedge is relatively small, given the range of the DNT will normally be roughly equal distance from prevailing spot when the deal is executed.

* straddle = a simultaneous purchase/sell of a put and call at a given strike and expiry date

A view of current pa. With all major news for the day done...I selected the area that functioned as support is currently tested to determine whether it has become resistance. A break through means a retest of yesterday's highs. With the past 12 hours being so bearish...my gut feeling says a couple hours of bulls buying does not change the trend for the day. Having just gotten home from my other duties...heres the update to that post. Note the peaks and valley. Note how that range held up. As I couldnt be here I had a 100pip take profit on that trade that got hit. I hope this trade shows just how important it is to stick to your own rules from the moment you plan it and execute it to the moment that TP or SL is hit.
