alright thanks. i'll keep an eye out on that level if we get up there.

And on the 15 minute chart there could be something of a double top with the area since we hit that level and fell back down at about 2 pm eastern time earlier today

I was mostly just using s/r with a little bollinger band action on the hour chart when i was picking 84

Certain parties went to great lengths to avoid actually "declaring war", in all the recent issues. I'm afraid this will bite many vetrans in the butt one day (benifits)?? Morning all. very unfortunate that my long orders last night did not tp at only 1.4882 and so the bull is not doing well . closed them with few pips & placed 1 sell because M5 & H4 stoches down & QQE also crossed down wherease M30,H1 up & ignored. if some up ( to 1.4895 only not to 1.4917,57) will add more shorts perhaps .
todays short target may be 1.4790 min ,if bear is healthy to 1.4686.
But overall ready for anything & not indulging for any psychological inertia of motion & taking any analysis as perfect, I lost many times only due to this problem though ultimately the analyses worked but too late due very big lot & sl applied.

I hear ACM guarantees fills with no slippage on all orders even during news.

OK, fine go long and short at each big news event with a 25 pip sl and a 50 pip tp (or whatever) - the straddle idea is that both orders will be filled - one in loss and the other, larger in gain. Do this at all red news events for all currency pairs. You always win.

Easy to see why brokers would not let this fly...but just wondering if any do?

You wouldn't always win. Say price jumps 26-49 (didn't TP) pips up taking out your short order, then reverses and takes out your long order. If you're willing to let go of atleast 50+ the ridiculous spreads they have during news then that idea sounds good. I'd have to say the odds are iffy.

This is probably a reason why there's fakes outs and large spreads. A quick straddle I'd imagine would work is a buy/sell order 50pips away and a TP of 10-25 and a stop of 25 or so. Seldom do they spike it 50pips (although I've seen it happen). This way you'd also catch the trend for that particular day/event.

I wouldn't do it though haha

i know how it works but the double edge sword is in a whipsaw both trades can be lossers. ive seen a few times with mb with news where the spread was negative... so i actually got paid to enter and tp was hit far above set tp. because it was filled a moment before/after spike. and vice versa. i dont trade unless im already in position.. unless i screw up with calender

1. Why sl? Just tp of 25 pips on both trades (won't advise though)

2. Why not GCI every day for an Asian Market index (forgot which one was that). They accept orders when makets are closed and guaranteed fill when markets open with one directional spike. I used to play this magic trick on demo. For fun, used to calculate exact amount I wanted to earn, then place order with 5/6 pip sl on each side and here we go when market opens. About 50 to 100 pip spike daily on market open. (not sure if they do it with real accounts or will continue after reading this post)

This is certianly the tightest range i've seen in forex since i've been trading the past couple weeks.
just feels like at any moment we could have one of those 30 or 40 pip 15 minute bars haha

i went ahead took profits at close to 70 from that long i took at 55

Not sure what 1 am will bring. seems like the direction is usually set between 1 and 2 central time.
Atleast that seems to be the case in futures. i haven't done a lot of night work in forex
