Since the USD Index began the upset last week, the EURJPY has been the road map giving cues about the direction Dollar Index would go .. seems you knew this Gator all along too...

This mornings high probability trade to 1.4900 as per my previous pots, long term we were looking at a re-test of 1.4900. 1Minute chart gave me the entry point and jumped it to ride straight to 1.4900 on the button. Exit was slightly early but hey not too shabby nonetheless trading after NFP. +29 Pips

Just been nursing a trade I took(LONG at 1.4845/ 8 lots) have already taken 6 lots out, the last of which was at 1.4904. I worked on the premis that Price would reverse at 1.4813. So far I am in agreement with you. S/L moved up to 1.4850, I am now the Casino, the Broker, is no longer it!!

Today demonstrated how trading news is bad. While some thought the reaction to the bad data (worse than forecast) was a rise in the E/U, the opposite happened. But eventually, the news did make an impact and the temporary down spike was leveled to the earlier position. Now the real impact of the news of a weaker economy will perhaps be seen.

As for why the sudden drop happened, here's FF calendar's own explanation:
