Well oil is another subject entirely.....one that isn't right for this forum...but....if there really is a pending oil shortage....and let's not forget that no oil means no trade, then why are we building more and more cars, planes ships etc etc??? Also, who really imagines that the stranglehold that the oil companies and oil producing nations have is just going to evaporate when oil runs out? They're not going to just shrug their shoulders and say "well that was fun while it lasted". Either, the oil companies already have the answer, or, there IS no imminent crisis.

And......who would have thought 25 years ago that people would be buying bottled water??

Well, we are building more cars, so they can sell some oil, at a very good Profit.

and because oil may run out, we are building more fuel efficient cars, and raising the price of fuels, so that those profits can last for more time.


There are already other fuel alternatives, but they are not so profitable as Oil.

exacty the reason why china can create it's own market and with enough it can do so, as it produces it's own, much like DeBeers controls price of diamond. Also it may seem obvious but gold is imperishable and is idel for trade, give me one ounce of gold and I will eat well with it, any year, any economic cycle, that's the beauty of gold

Price is now at a critical juncture, caught between 2 ML's. If it breaks the high of hourly candle, 2 hours ago, we go to 1.4800. If it breaks the low of last hourly candle we go to 1.4600. It's so late in the session there probably won't be much momentum to follow through the move.

Beautiful entry, as seen here on the picture:

Spotted an ascending bullish pattern (somewhat higher lows, and higher highs being made) after the drop in the european/london session. Decided to purchase at the 3rd retracement on the trendline.

Paid off quite well!

just noticed, EUR/USD today touched weekly trendline, it's time start rally again in next few weeks,
or maybe not, and then I will have to re-think my strategy for this pair

We are of the view that the 6+ month run-up in risk assets (stocks and commodities) is at a turning point. The USD has been sold down to politically sensitive levels and a correction in risk assets should see the USD recover lost ground according to recent correlations.

The strategy is to use remaining strength in EUR/USD to establish short positions in anticipation of a USD recovery. Conservative traders might wish to wait for a decisive break below the key daily trendline from the 1.2450/2500 lows, which comes in at the 1.4590/00 level, before shorting EUR/USD. The top of the Ichimoku cloud is also there at 1.4600, and a daily close inside the cloud would be another bearish signal. The strategy will look to sell half of a short EUR/USD position at the 1.4790 level, and the second half at 1.4850, for an average short rate of 1.4820. The stop loss will be at 1.4960, just above the Oct. 27 high, for a total risk of about 140 pips. The stop will be adjusted lower to break-even on a daily close below the 1.4590/00 trendline. The take profit will be for half around the cloud base at 1.4440, and the second half at 1.4200, just above the lows before the break higher in early September.

im not saying gold dont have a perceived value. but lets ask the same question in your example "you will eat". if starving, are you willing to give an ounce of gold for a steak? both are only worth what you can get for them at any given moment. at this point you spoke of it will be the rifle that takes gold.. for less the cost.
