Forget candles.

All you need is wave analysis, support and resistance, highs and lows, higher highs and higher lows, lower lows and lower highs. You are confusing yourself (and probably others) unnecessarily.

Well, it's better to take some pips from the table, rather than
end up getting SL hit. It's all about the money management.

Good that GDP turned out to be positive, even thou Goldman Sachs lowered
the expectation to 2.7%, which was a negative sign.

It is amazing how simple this is, and many here would benefit from accepting how simple the SonicR is. I would tell you how much I am up this week alone in % terms, but no one would believe me. But I will say this: I am up double digits on a max 2%/trade risk, and it is all SonicR. Keeping it simple has its rewards.

Money management is equal parts trading your set ups, letting your TPs hit, and letting your stop loss get hit too. If you cut your profits to avoid a possible loss, you are cutting short the benefits of trading a winning system.

Too much thinking, not enough doing. You are making a mistake by allowing fundamentals to intrude in your trading - who cares what GS has to say, and who among us can really determine before hand whether some fundamental is short term bullish or bearish? You are fooling yourself if you think fundamentals matter to a day trader.

It is very important that you are comfortable identifying clear and distinct swings if you are going to trade the advanced SonicR. Also, make sure you place the stop loss under the higher low for longs, and above the the lower high for shorts. You do not need price to retrace all the way back to the low or the high. The advanced SonicR usually gives a very attractive risk to reward ratio.

Ok! Thanks, ddaytrader. I figured you started at very bottom, but was not thinking to stop at only 1.4812, as that appeared to be only about half of the new range at the bottoming of the PA. Many thanks. Would appreciate more of your thinking on your selection of 1.4812. Elaboration here, would better assist me in understanding your wisdom....maybe some others could benefit, also.

I had my SL set too low. I will adjust. As for the trade, I went for some sleep and left it running without changing any levels that the original trade was entered with:

My intention is to fully understand the method.

However, you wrote in the secrets of sonicr manual that, the secret is trading pin bars etc in D1 & H4 tf on M15.

I asked the question a few weeks ago, if we are trading the H4 & D1 candles after they finish or before.
Nobody answered that question.
Is it a stupid question, I asked myself?
Now, today DD tells me we are trading these candles before they form on H4 & D1tf in the M15 tf. I ask, How can that be possible when the candle has not completed?
And the answer is, stop thinking about these candles and Sonic agrees with that statement.

I can not for the life of me work this out, and when I get an answer that seems to contradict the sonicr secret written by Sonic himself, it is natural to ask such a question, is it not?
Starting to see instead of just looking.

I am not sure what you are referring to in terms of "range" and "new range".

I am simply looking for something that looks like a Low-High-Higher Low forming at support. I do not know how to explain it other than simply referring back to my chart (I am a visual learner myself). For a short, I would be looking for something that looks like a High-Low-Lower high.

Here is a schematic I drew for you. In the first pic, I just show you what should be a familar pattern to we Sonikers. In the second pic, I placed fib extensions on the schematic.

What you might find interesting about this this exercise is this (I know I did): I drew the schematic, including the support and resistance lines, and the arrows representing the swings before I placed the extensions on the picture. As you can see, the arrows, S/R etc line up perfectly with the 261 extension. This just goes to show that this is a pattern that over time the human mind can come to recognize and that it repeats. I drew perfect fibonacci proportions without the use of the fib tool.

The objective of the advanced SonicR is to try to get into a trade after the very first correction after price makes a potential reversal. This is not bottom or top picking. It still requires patience. It requires you to wait for price to show itself as being ready to rally from a possible bottom or decline from a possible top. You do not try to "seel the top pip" or "buy the bottom pip." You apply Sonic's price action analysis to less mature wave.

Rastaman, I remember a Sonic post referring to an already passed H4 pinbar on the bottom of PA, suggesting to all they be looking for SonicR entry on M15.....as if to say, "Folks, this looks real good for a yet to happen upside move." (My words, not Sonic's)

And ddaytrader says the H4 does not have to be yet completed for a SonicR trade to present itself. And Sonic agrees.

My point is that it can be either way.....H4 complete, or not, but looking so good in the general context of PA that it serves to alert one to a possible upcoming SonicR trade. There need be no argument, no taking of sides on this, just the realization that trading in general, and PA in particular, is not an exact science. If it were, then scientist traders would be the wealthiest people in the world!

As ddaytrader suggested, don't get bogged down in a candle by candle analysis of what is happening, in order to predict what might happen. Pinbars are particularly strong indicators. And when an H4 completed TF is a good one, and preceding PA supports a prediction of a turn around, well then, you still have to see if it will happen. And moving down to M15 to watch for a SonicR is logical. But even if an incomplete H4 looks very much like it might complete as a pinbar, and preceeding PA supports a turn around hypothesis, it stll makes sense to drop down to the M15 to watch for possible SonicR setup.

I will say this again, for emphasis. Trading is not exacting. Though technical indicators are exacting, you have to use them as though being applied to a psychotic!

But this is still like. which came first the chicken or the egg.

Ok, today I watched that pinbar on H1 form at a good area making it a possibly good signal.
After which I saw the sonic wave building up on M15, actually I saw them both at the same time as I have the charts side by side.

It looked like a good pinbar, the wave looked good on M15 and I decided it was a worthwhile trade.

So, is this what it is about or did I enter too late because the pinbar had already completed?

This is what I need to know.
Starting to see instead of just looking.

The problem I was having, when trying to understand where/why you placed your start/stop anchors, is that I came to the party later than you did. And when I arrived, PA had consistenly drifted higher....no noticeable pullback to upset the pattern of the incline. So, I saw no particular reason that you pulled your top anchor down from a higher level (after which there was a minor pullback). It just made no sense to me. I do see that level, now, as a level that was previously support, which was broken on the drive down to the bottom, and as the same level that the tops of PA were limited to as the bottoms moved up.

The Sonic secret will not make sense to you so long as you are consumed by trying to figure it out.

Trust me.

Forget about candles.

Forget about pin bars, engulfing, shooting stars and all that unnecessary stuff.

You will understand what Sonic meant when you understand the basics. Not before. You will not understand the big picture so long as you are still struggling to recognize the important details from the distractions. In other words, you will not "get It (the Secret)" until you "get it (the simplicity of the SonicR", and you will not get the simplicity until you stop looking everywhere but where you should: wave analysis, support and resistance, highs and lows, higher highs and higher lows, lower lows and lower highs.

Sonic R is about going LONG, when Higher High, Higher Low is formed and placing BUY STOP at the break out.

Look at figure 1 and 2. They are both Valid Sonic R Long set up. But it may not necessarily shows bullish hammer in higher TF.. Fig 2. shows bullish engulfing while it is also a nice set up...

Same lessons on figure 3 and 4 for Sonic R short...

So, I suggest you to stop looking at the higher TF for a time being and concentrate on M15 TF wave analysis...and trade along.. DEMO it to see if it suit you.
