I have been keeping on eye on this thread for since FJ and Robd left.

I really hope that it can be revived. This system is still solid IMHO.

I am not the owner of this hread, but howabout, he start posting some trades etc.

Anyone interested? http://www.forexfactory.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

Cheers
Ezzy

PS - If anyone has contact with FJ, or Robdee, please encourage them to return.
What you do is a reflection of you....what I do is a reflection of me.

Ive been reading this thread from the beginning up to page 90. Very interesting so far. I wonder if people are still using this system and if they are being able to make a living using it. I will keep reading the rest of the thread and maybe give this a try.

I still use the system. I don't know about making a living off of just this system but I suppose you could depending on your skill level and your bank account. I have found that I"m not getting as many pips per trade cause of market conditions when I'm trading.

If you are starting the system from scratch my advice for you is to start at the beginner level for at least 2 months and get to know the system and the indicator in and out until you move to advanced. I would also look over all of Jedi's and Robdee's posts.

Any question in particular ask and I will try and help.

good luck and happy pips!

Not sure exactly why they left but I do know the Jedi was frustrated about some thing and some people on the Vforce thread awhile back and Robdee was sick. But I do not know for certain why.

It does look like it is a valid signal if you line up all three of the indicators. The problem that I see with this trade is that you went counter trend and the indicator candle is big. When doing the Basics please still with trades only with the main trend. I would also spend time learning this on the eur/usd in the beginning.

When I look at your chart I see a TL showing an upward trend. I generally will only trade in the direction of the overall trend lines drawn from the 15m charts.

The other issue is the big candle that was signaled the indicators. I don't recall their being any written rule that says to avoid a big indicator candle. It has been my experience that they do not always work well. The only time I will trade a big indicator candle is on the London Open, it's still riskier than I generally will do, but.....

Hope this helps!

I could certainly understand an illness. And if that is the case I certainly wish him All the best and that he is feeling better.

But, frustration about something and some people on this thread or another thread have said, without giving anyone a heads up sounds strange to me and petty.

I've never used the VForce method as it sounded a little too complicated for my liking and I believe trading should be very easy and simple. Maybe I'll take a look at it again sometime in the future.

On the other hand, the very first original iteration of the "Force 5min system" I think is a great starting point for beginner traders to learn how to trade, how indicators function and hopefully make a few pips.

That's just my opinion and not intended to insult anyone.

Hi Simple & thanks for the reply!

The chart shows EUR/USD and of course you are right the main trend was UP.

But now comes the question: from which timeframe do you get your main trend? How long does a trend has to last to become a main trend and when do you see a reversal?

Do you watch the 5-15-60 min to get the main trend direction? Or do you even count the dailies in?

The 5 min is very erratic by itīs nature and I always have troubles to decide from what time frame I should take the main trend.

Itīs very sad that the owner of this thread disappeared, because I do think that the original - shown in this thread - method provides much more than many other methods. When I was reading the vForce I got very confused because I did not see the stated progress!

You said you donīt use the Force by itīs own. Did you add something or combined anything else?

Thanks in advance
Tom

I think some parts of that coversation had been token out, i read the Thread complete but as i reread it i couldnīt find those passages anymore.
Anyway, petty it is but i think all the guys who disappeared because of this are certanly right, it was Jedis Thread and he and RobDee made it what it is still today, and everybody can start this System alone through the Thread, takes more time but itīs worth it, and of course there were some more great guys who had always been helpful and contributed first class stuff, as i said, i think they are right and i whish them all the best.
I really donīt get it why in every good Thread these guys are appearing who only want to change and screw around on a system which already works, there is so much free space in the Net, must have to do something with a complex or jealousy, whatever. As i said lately to a Buddy in our Chat, i hope FJ and RD have already their Island and only trading still Seashells to Cruising Ship Tourists, or something like that.
The System is great, i donīt use it atm., to less time to trade a clean Style but i am sure it still works the same, why shouldnīt it, itīs all just about buy or sell or stay out of the Market when you tread it right.
Thanks again to all these Guys here who helped me to become a better Trader.

See you around, tickticker

Hi all
I am still using the Force 5 and liking it.

One area where I have made a few mistakes is no entry 30 min before major news is anounced. So now I have an note card showing the news times with the corresponding candle where if hit, no entries. For instance if 7:00 is the news announcement my last candle for entry is close of 6:25.

Another thing I have been thinking about is keeping the purity of the force 5 system, yet adapting it to my personality. The adaptions I do may not work for others. I strive to have rules set up that are so cut and dry on entry and exits that trading becomes very boring.

The system does work. It will take time though to get a feal for the best way for you to put it to use. I am looking forward to when I can trade more, my day job takes a lot out of me so at times it is tough to stay awake.

If any one has questions ask. There are lots of traders here who know this system inside and out.

I really try to get my hands on this Force!
What are you guys using to avoid those choppy times where the Stochs are going wild and MACD flatens.

Hi Rufus,

would you mind telling more about your additional set of rules?

I too have the feeling that I am missing somthing which keeps me away from the choppy times.

Taking only signals where both Stochs came from 20 or 80 filters out many good trades.

For this system:

To find the trend go to the 15 min screen and go out as far as you can. Set your trends from that screen then move to the 5 min screen. Do not trade off the 15 min.

Hi Tom

One of the things I ran into was hitting that 20 pip stop and losing that 1% I have risked. I contend that the best way to gain in this market is not lose. So now I break up my entry into 3 parts. If I have $30 I can risk(1% of account) usually what I will do is .8, .35, .35. When the initial 10 pips is hit I move my stoploss up 10 pips. Now if it retraces on me I am still out with a little profit. More importantly no loss.

If I don't get 10 pips in 4 candles I close the position. In 8 candles if I have not hit 20 pips I move my stop to my entry price. Also if I get 2 consecutive candles that move against me before 10 pips is reached, (doji does not count, but I become more cautious) I will close the position.

I also divide up my trades into Winners, Losers, and fails.
Wins are when I hit 20 pips or more. Lose is if it hits my 20 pip sl. A fail is anything in between. My goal is to have my fails cover the losses. Which for the most part has been happening.

I hope this helps

Rufus

I notice you are using the RSI, how is that acting in this system? I'm actually right now looking to create an alert when the stochs, macd, and MA are all moving in the same direction. that way I can still look at the chart and makethe choice too go in or not.

good luck and happy pippin!
