well putt...in my opinio even 10 pips in a week is a success...as long as u r in green consistantly, it does not matter how many pips u r in profit, but that u r in profit..and i guess that is the objective for everyone who is trading is to be in profit

10 - 20 - 100 - 500 pips a day means nothing. Don't get yourself drawn into the trap of others.

For some 10 pips a day = 5% profit of the account size
For some others 500 pips a day = 0.5% profit of the account size

How many pips a day or how many dollars a day some people make is not proof of their skills. Proof a skill means how many % of the account size one makes. Because it involves much more than BUY or SELL it involves MONEY MANAGEMENT.

60/day is an average. I get my bad days and my good days like everyone else. I also get days where I can't figure out what the hell is going on, so I stay out!!!

There is my biggest weakness. When I have no idea what's going on, I take it as a challenge, I'm getting over it slowly, but too slowly for my own good.

although i ll put another long order with 20pip sl...i just dun see a reason for it to drop..sure there is a huge R in place but the dollar has been fu...d in the ass today on all fronts, and in my usually wrong opinion likely to continue being fuc...d all week..

my very problem too...if i not sure or dun have a clear signal, i take a ''guess''..i say to myself well, it is 50 50 since pa is down or up...but in reality always bites me..bad habits die slow

So are you saying that if I made 10 pips x 10 standard lots I would only earn $100?

In correct....10 lots x 10 pips = 100 pips = $1,000

Get it? Do you want to count pips or actual gains?

Pips are great for measuring technical/fundamental prowess and such.

Bottom line is bottom line. Someone who bets 1 lot for 100 pips and someone who bets 10 lots for 10 pips accomplished the exact same thing.

I swear to you it's easier to bet 1 lot hoping for 100 pips, than it is to lay down 10 big ones for 10 pips. When 10 lots go against you, YOU SWEAT INSTANTLY. I should say I sweat instantly.

That's how I see it.

I know exactly what you mean.....I've got burned a couple of times for not taking my own advice. For instance, many people are talking of 1.5xxx, but I am not convinced.....and I've said so a couple of times over that past week or so. I could be wrong....way wrong in fact, but my own analysis says we won't get there. So, now *I* think we won't get there, but many do think that we will.

I'm not going to be arrogant and defy the masses, and I'm also not experienced/bold enough to risk shorting this. So, what to do? For me, stay out of this until I see something I like. I made nothing yesterday, and may make nothing today.....but.....i didn't lose anything either.

Sooner or later a trade will come along that I like.....it's just a matter of of waiting under the forex tree until something drops into my lap!!
