It looks strong, but I just don't buy it. Can't go long here. I have small short, and down, but nothing to get too alarmed about, yet.

I had the feeling last week that markets would make a high volume top, but just keeps grinding up on low volume. All the fear mongering of "WEAK DOLLAR" on TV constantly, it's no wonder, but you have to think at some point USD shorts will cover, so...

...Without substantial move higher, the longer it ranges here the more epic the next move will be.

Yes, I'm inclined to agree....and I stand by my analysis of a yesterday too. As you say, I believe that what we are seeing is nothing more than fear-mongering and idle gossip inching this thing up. I'm not going to short it yet though 'cos I might be wrong!!!

Trichet might just be putting some kneepads and "service" the dollar when he talks later this week. So you dollar bulls will be nursing a semi. The bad news is that it won't be to completion.

I think the tide will turn in favor of the USD, but when is the question. This week with 78Billion in treasury auctions we face a situation where lower dollar this week may spur bond investment. If you are foreign investor, you want ot buy bonds (or any USD based investment for that matter) with weak currency, so 2 years from now when the currency regains it strength it's a successful invesment. Long story short, this week may be weak for USD. I do not thing currency has anythign to do with supply and demand anymore. There is so much liquidity and global swap funds acting in a way to virtually set the currency rates. Of course this is all done to "improve the economy".

Get your rain coats and batten down the hatches.

Well there are a lot of bigger players out there with a lot more at stake who have an interest in USD remaining within a range.
