how big is the position & how much are you willing risk in case of another downward extension? this NFP could really shake things up.
my opinion, if you are remotely close to break-even, i would close and enter after the announcement, perhaps even next week. no harm in that?
In my opinion no one really knows where this is going... So cutting a trade either in profit or loss (going against your backtesting) is a sure way to failure...
Interesting how people care about the position people are holding... Let me tell you I only risk 3% of my account (by the moment I have 3 methods to trade) so 1% risk on eurusd....

enough said, if your rules say hold then hold. good on you for 3%. guess you were venting some frustration & 'tired(ness)' with the market not going anywhere
I would probably have done what you are saying if I knew how to exit, but I have no idea how to so I just backtest with fixed TP/SL easier that way... gave me a bit more than 20% this week on GBPUSD & EURJPY so working nicely... see set & forget post I have posted...

i guess it is because charts and indicators are much more exciting and stimulating to look at than crunching numbers...for some.

no question. It's interesting how often money management is the last thing to mention in articles/books/courses, almost as an "oh, by the way before we forget, you should try to manage your money..." appendix.
i guess it is because charts and indicators are much more exciting and stimulating to look at than crunching numbers...for some.
