Spot gold is trading at $990.65 per troy ounce, down 5 cents from Friday's New York close in profit-taking from intraday high, but the metal's uptrend remains intact, according to a dealer in Tokyo.

Base metals on the London Metals Exchange are mixed in quiet trade, with LME three-month copper at $5,985 per ton, down $25 from Friday's afternoon kerb. "There's a bit of dollar weakness that is helping some buying around current numbers. But it's also no surprise to see the market down.

The market is long, and we've seen a wash-out over the past few trading sessions," a Hong Kong-based trader said.

ps. not the trend, but maybe it pulls back to 1.463x as my chart above shows a trendliine break on a shorter timeframe.

Hopefully a bit higher also... But I think the stock market is going to be choppy all day... (eurusd chopy) unless oil, gold does something special...

Cmon guys, let's not fight in the room, who cares if it's up or down, were smart and we take our pips in the swings anyway, why argue the overall direction.

Who cares how many posts a guys got, I don't follow any of you, and never will, keep your own counsel, I do find it interesting to see the different charts and strategies at work and find the room entertaining... let's keep it that way.

By the way, for me we are nearing some nice resistance and counting has gone confusing for me, so I am looking to exit my bear trade (around 550-500) and re-enter bear on big retrace. Till then I'll take some smaller moves for my pips.

Well this is finally a wonderful move to below 1.46. I was watching a little too nervously from a football game tonight :| I am still short on average between 1.464 and 1.47 from Friday. tp is short term 1.4527 ??? 1.4493?

 

  1. imo cover within 24 to 36 hours, or by the end of the US session Monday
  2. imo the bulls will run this back to 1.48 this week, I want to be positioned long again
  3. that is my outlook for the week

Good morning everyone,

Got this night an alarm at 3.30am that the EUR is dropping, but had been to tired to get my ass out of bed. Just looked at my charts and saw that this trade could have been a nice clear 30pips in 3hrs(see 5min chart). Ohh well next time I will try and get earlier to be on a Sunday.
When looking at the daily (4pane chart)the move down was awaited for a long time and will soon (when below 1.46) start with adding longs. If a significant move on the upside takes place I may even enter longs then.
For the short side I might change to short if the low of today gets broken with a lot of PA.
Anyway looks like an interesting day for trading.
