The effect is more confidence in the dollar, which should have translated into Lower EU rate.
The higher yield trend (as we are seeing the short term trend you show) translates to higher interest rate, for mortgages eg.
The yield is also an indicator of inflationary outlook.
Without getting too lengthy an explanation, we wanted a good demand today, low yield to see a top in the EU. We got it, but the effect would...

Now I'm not that sure – market seem to be getting less correlated. We don't really know who buys the treasuries. Even bid to cover ratios don't explain what's really going on. Primary dealers have to buy. But recently there've seen posts on some blogs that FED buys back the papers. FED certainly buys a lot. Other seem to reduce their positions.

No, I thought you were talking about Consumer Credit number out with Acumen.

Well, the auction didn't really make an impact. Considering the healthy demand at the auction, US$ should have gained maybe a little more than it did considering it got hammered today. Maybe they are wary of the longer dated auctions coming up later this week.

nah, he's right, it didn't move south as I would have liked, but as I said it's probably a delayed reaction to come.
I think the action now will probably concentrate on oil. That should be the talking point soon. It's amazing how ne can become old within a day in Forex.

Ah...acumen was talking about the consumer credit and then some guy said the forecast was off a bit, and then acumen said "A bit." and then I almost pi$$ed myself laughing.

ECB Cranks Up Printing Presses Again

The ECB has called for 3 and 6 month repo bids as they inject unlimited funds into the market for the asking at a fixed one-percent.

It doesn’t matter though, since only the Fed has printing presses, right. EUR/USD has eased lightly, now at 1.4470.

I got gold fever and screwed this hyperspike. Had to add on to shorts at the top. Your TP is right about my BE. I don't think we will stay up here for long without a retrace to 4400 or so, but still it makes me sad when I do stupid shit.

Still got the gold fever, though.....ooowee. Got about 500 pips in three trades and none lasted more than 5 min. The day I'm wrong there will probably nip that romance in the bud, probably won't be long.
