If you got the talent to get pips, good on you. Really. It means that you have the talent. However, the reality is that most people in here don't have it nor will they ever.

I'm not saying "haha, I'm better than you because...". But no matter what, the message will inevitably get interpreted that way by some. Particularly if I post a monthly chart every day.

If you're not part of the sheeple crowd, then obviously my antics don't apply to you. And most of my posts will not apply to you so you're welcome to just skim over them.

And to those of you who feel offended by what I say. If the cap fits, wear it.

Well I don't mean to be bitchy either, but I look at this on a near daily basis and I generally like to be the opposite of what FXCM's clients are doing as well

But, as vanyxster said, we all trade different timeframes and if you are scalping and giving the market your full attention, it doesn't really matter. For those of us that have to work (like me at the moment), I have to trade longer timeframes because I can't give the market my utmost attention.


The SSI is a powerful tool unique to FXCM. It shows you FXCM's trading book: what our clients are trading. At a glance, you can see where traders are in the market. Are there large numbers of buyers or sellers? Are they exiting or entering? FXCM's SSI is updated twice every day, and the information is current - unlike the COT report.

Intraday Highlight:

USDCAD - The ratio of long to short positions in the USDCAD stands at 3.42 as nearly 77% of traders are long. Yesterday, the ratio was at 2.65 as 73% of open positions were long. In detail, long positions are 22.3% higher than yesterday and 44.9% stronger since last week. Short positions are 5.3% lower than yesterday and 20.4% weaker since last week. Open interest is 14.7% stronger than yesterday and 14.5% above its monthly average. The SSI is a contrarian indicator and signals more USDCAD losses

thats interesting. if im reading correctly.. position traders are favoring shorts now. according to this. is this correct? whats the websight?

It's a contrarian indicator. You want to be the opposite since they say 95% of retail traders are wrong. So, if your charts agree, you should be going long on EUR, AUD, CAD, CHF and JPY, short on GBP, GBP/JPY etc.

I see Cadbury also rejected Kraft Foods offer to buy them. That may have also been a reason the GBP lost some value.

*L* i cleaned up on gy earlier short.. took some of table and to rest locked in the green.. i did not believe the trade but system said it was ok.. system still says it will go lower..

Yeah, it's really quite accurate most times. I don't totally trade off it or anything - just another tool in the toolbox. When people are short on EUR and long on GBP on the sentiment index, you will generally find that the EUR/GBP will gain in value.

I think a lot of traders that got smacked on GBP when it was powering up a little while ago seem to still be favouring going long because it's been since about that time that retail clients have favoured longs. You can imagine that when GBP was powering up, the sentiment index was heavily short on GBP.

So, yes, for your GBP/JPY position, you are on the right side according to this.

There isn't a website. I access it through my FXCM platform. But apparently you can sign up for a demo or something and then you can get access to it. Have a look at that Jason Rogers FXCM Rep thread - there's more details in there.

Right I have just uploaded the trade I over Non Farm Payrolls - this month's price action was a lot different than usual so I have tried to cover as much as possible in the video.

Today has very low volume, but when the big money comes back within the next 24 hrs I believe they will do it with force and we will see increased volatility. I will be looking to long positions in EUR/USD and GBP/USD around 1.4253 and 1.6277 respectively.

For the Euro, I will be watching the 1.4580 level as my TP, due to the fact that we have arrived at the end of the bullish wedge that has been forming since June. For cable, I will target the 1.6766 level. I believe these are major short term resistance levels.

Going over some recent posts and I must say there is some good stuff today, not to mention a good fistcuff, though small, between vanyxster and Jay, of which a good thing to come out of it was a nice monthly trading chart. I have recapped some lines which I think could be stickied today. Informatio is valuable. Maybe we should have a sticky section for the day or maybe too many would be embarrased, an idea.
