ive never had anyone dig as hard as supreme to get to the bottom of things.

the most curious person i have seen here in 5 years easy but he goes about it in a kind and respectful way so i always try to quench his curiosity.

lol

ive been keeping and raising reptiles since i was 12 or 13.

there are many many morphs. they can range from 20 dollars to 50,000 or more.

pricing depends on a lot of factors.

recessive or dominent genes/age etccc.

males make people money in this business.

grown females are treasured but young males are more expensive than there female counterparts.

males can breed at less than a year and females take at least 2 and usually 3 or 4.

ball pythons are terribly fussy eaters.

they can go off feed for months.

if that happens you can add that time to your already long wait for maturity.

i recently had a male go 9 months without eating and its very common to have a female go 6 months.

still a few days from weekend, & we already have an interesting topic.

how long have u been into this hobby, Sir?
the price difference of a regular & a white snake would be like how much?
is it similar with dogs, wherein females are pricier?
do u have plans to pursue herpetology or something?

i'll take these questions into PM if need be. Thanks & thanks for sharing!

of interest to breeders & enthusiasts, people like us

is that cooler than cool or what

This is alot longer than I planned. So, here is the short version.

Behold, the power of the sports analogy:
I kick a football at a window. It doesnt break, and comes back to me.

Next, I kick it at the window again, but from a bit further back. The ball goes to the same point (ie, to the window) but by the time it gets there, it is already decelerating, because I kick like a girl. Either that or I kick it more softly. Because I kick like a girl. Therefore, it is travelling slower when it hits the window this time. If it didnt...

very good of you ice.

snakes serve a very good purpose as a rodent barrier.

dont get me wrong. if a poisonous snake is found near my house its a gonner. cant take that risk but very very few people think that way.

if its a snake its dead.

most people unless they live in certain parts of the world will never see a poisonous snake.

they are abundant in my area but i have never seen one unless i was actually out looking for it. which i do.

i hear people all the time saying they killed a copperhead in my area.

rubbish.

99.999 percent chance they killed a corn snake which is nothing but a good thing to have around.

how many times have you got bit?

I was digging around in my basement closet looking for a camera cord and saw something that didn't fit in right. Then it started moving into a box with the lid on. Turns out it was a black snake about 7 ft long. He had made him a little spot in a box only about 12''x6'' , I assume a mouse had got into it as it had some little candies. Was able to get the box out to the woods behind the house and let 'em go. Since we no longer have cats, snakes do a good job keeping the mice out.

This is very interesting as usual. I think I have summed it up in the chart below.

That makes sense now to say that the more a certain supportre/sistance area gets tested and the rejection is weaker from the previous time - the odds for a breakout grow.
Just a few things which passed through my head while reading this post.

I've had two copperheads since the time I've lived here, about 10 years. One about 6', took an axe to it. Other one was in my basement this late spring/early summer. Just a baby, got it with a hockey stick. One of two baby snakes I've had in the basement this year...other one was another black snake I let go...must of met the momma last week. I've heard the baby copperheads are worst because they don't know when to let go or something like that....?

baby snakes are almost always more of a threat.

there venom is much more concentrated.

a baby copperhead can kill a grown man.

a grown copperhead will just make you very sick for a while.

i know a guy that was bitten on the arm by a copperhead and didnt even go to the dr. i used to hunt them with him as kids. he was 5 years older than me.

that same guy went on to become a highly respected zoo herp director in my area.

I dig & dive deep as much as i can or as much as i am allowed too.
i was in fact reluctant to ask (more) questions since this off topic & weekend is days away.
i think i was born with & certainly raised with dogs around me. around 6-9y.o. we accidentally got what i thought was a Philippine eagle (our national bird). but these snakes are interesting too.

$50k or more????! dang! are these "staple" pets in US? pretty exorbitant price, if u ask me who are these people who buy these... wow!

pinbar looks long and nice, my worry is that there's not enough 'space' for it to 'breathe'.

bounces off the FR nicely, and its touching the 14EMA

How would you guys grade this setup?

jarroo,
Thanks Sir.
others here mentioned possible &/or traded CAD cross shorts (around that daily high):
Grousman (audcad), Jduester (gbpcad), & faizal82 (eurcad).

the drop could have been due to profit-taking/retracement &/or CAD strength.

Far Northern Australia, definitely agree. But not swimming off the rest of Australia would be like telling your kids never to go out in the sun ever, ...they might get skin cancer.

Sounds like some nature program has talked up Australia's dangerous creatures again. LOL

You're more likely to die in a plane crash (while it's sitting at the terminal. ) than come to an end at the hands (lol ..."hands") of one of mother nature's pets.

Aha, i overlooked that. It's great that golden bundy clarified it.
I've learned from Nat'l geographic or Discovery that Australia has got some of the world's most venomous snakes & creatures..

so topics like these would get u to un-lurk after about 2+ weeks huh? u bloody seem to like the wild outdoors

I used to think that - then there was a shark warning off our beach one day last summer. Oh, and some kind of stinging jellyfish invaded too, and you couldnt go in the water for a week.

...and it isnt exactly what you would call 'far north', lol.

(funnelweb and redback spiders are a regular occurence, but i dont know anyone that has ever been bitten. apart from that, australia is harmless. although I did see a brown snake at the coast once, and apparently they can be a bit bad for your health)

i searched for "newport beach", it says there's a Newport beach California too. :nerd:

arent u people already accustomed to sharks & stinging jellies? there's a TV series (on National Geo. Adventure channel, i think) about Bondai beach. it has warnings about the jellies & yet people still flock to the beach. why the bloody hell is that so?
