Why would the price be moving right now? The market is closed everywhere but there's candles forming? What is going on?

EDIT: The spreads are moving too.

I don't show anything yet at Oanda, but typically we get some Sunday price action around 1300 PDT (3PM Ole Miss time) and I have seen it as early as 1100 PDT. Could be early-bird bankers in Wellington? Not sure really about the whole after-hours / pre-market trading environment.

This comes up every single Sunday. Just because your broker is closed, does not mean the markets are closed.

On Oanda, I can trade all day saturday and sunday if i want, spreads are 10 pips on EUR/USD, but I can open and close orders.

This site gives the interbank rates over the weekend. You can see they change.

EUR-USD had a small 200 pip range last week. We closed with a spinning top candle on the WEEKLY chart. Indicating that the momentum to the upside has paused for the time being. On the DAILY chart we have an inside candle, bearish harami candlestick formation.

Unless the high 1.4405 is taken out we are in a short term bearish scenerio. With LABOR DAY WEEKEND approaching, we could see volume dropping off during the last 2 days of the upcoming week. Depending how the economic reports "actual numbers" come out, this week we could see some nice interday price action.

There are several key economic reports coming out this week that should move the market.

EUR: Minimum Bid Rate;
UK: Manufacturing PMI, Services PMI;
Canadian: Unemployment Rate;
US: Pending Home Sales m/m, Unemployment Claims, ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI, and the all important NFP!

NOTE: The LABOR DAY offically ends summer.

Right. However, its pretty rare (in my brief experience, anyway) to see any new candles painted on the Oanda chart over the weekend. I saw a little activity pretty late on a Friday evening (about 1900 PDT) one time, but that's the only time I recall....

True, it's rare, but you can see it happen.

And last year when hurricane Ike hit (over the weekend), I changed my position on Saturday (using Oanda) from short to long. Didn't matter much, would have made money either way.

Japanese elections have thrown some surprises. I think it may lead to an equities jump and hence a weaker Yen.

FXPro also weird. First candle opened @ 93.259 (93.588 was Friday's close).

Edit: All yen pairs looks weird. E/J and G/J, as well.
