Market manipulation is a serious part of my thinking when I consider medium term directions, or the next move of 140 points or so. I tend to ask myself if I was a hedge fund manager with several billion dollars which way would be more profitable to direct the movement of price just now.

So when we talk about this Goldman Sachs article it seems to be kind of apples and oranges with near term market direction. It just confirms the long term trend is up, not the next small move. Thats why my bias is Short right now, because...
It's funny you say that...to me, and i might be wrong. Hedge funds are NEW to forex. So I personally believe that is why we have the 90% retraces. They are the only ones to "save" bad trades. They are the ones that are making the market move. So after a "big" move, I say to myself, "where did the hedge funds go wrong, and how are they going to save their position". This is just my personal opinion, and how I look at some of my trades.

Yes exactly, thats why I got so screwed up with this last top that was created, because it violated the elliptical path that hedge funds normally move the market in-overextending the pair. I'm sure there were good profitability reasons for it, maybe to take money from guys like me who follow these things...:nerd:

Heck... i finally came to realise that i'm neither a bull nor a bear. I'm just direction bias. Don't really care whether it goes up or goes down. Only care that i'm on the train when it leaves the station.

I would say "Why ride the train oneway when you can do it both ways?"

I love theory, I can talk forex theory forever. I hate the posts (EUR/USD 1.5!!!!!!), with no chart or at least some theory. I really, really belive forex was a "tool" for a company to trade their profits or loses on an open market to get their money into dollars. The longer I have been in forex, I have noticed it's now a "vehicle" to trade... for the big banks to MAKE money.

My opinoin again....hedge funds destroyed the stock market. It was tooooo easy for them. They got in a "bad" position.... they market manipulated themselves out.

I think they have entered the forex market. BUT the BIG banks control forex. So they have been fleecing the hedge funds... BUT they hedge funds DO have money, than CAN rescue some of their positions (the 90% retraces we see on big movements).

Just my theory.

Here's a short term trade I have: buy above 1.4251, SL 17 pips; sell below 1.4234, SL 17 pips. TP trail 1 hour bar or 30 pips partial. Take the loss if stopped out.

I think you've mistaken my post. It wasn't directed twords you, it was directed twords TE Lawrence in a joking way.

I take the issues you point out seriously. Its well known that elections and politics are heavily influenced by big corporate money, so you'd be dumb not to believe that the stock and currency markets are as well...Its obvious. But if you come out and say it, somebody else comes out and screams black helicopters and hangs an area 57 sign on your neck.

We are sitting on the upwards trend line starting last Tuesday week. To me the trend is up until this breaks. I would only short here on a break of this TL. So far this TL has been respected.

Im keeping an eye in the equity market also which i think is also waiting for unemployment results. We will trade sideways until then.
