A key reversal bar. In combination with historical maximum gives you a good clue about what is going to happen. Also you don't have to wait for confirmation bars to form. An other clue was the second wave break on a smaller timeframe (a good entry point). All those together made a great trading opportunity. Congratulations, Sonic, I'm sure you took this trade.

an historical maximum is the highest high in a certain period of time. In Sonic's case it was a yearly period (EUR 1.4447) Take a look on a weekly timeframe.
Confirmation bars are called 2-3 bars formed after the trend reversal.

Hi Rastaman,

I wanted to make sure you didn't miss this post

Your chart looks great! The only thing you might want to think about is using the pivot indicator that I got from Basber - it shows the mid-pivots (M1, M2, M3, M4) and I find these to be great TP levels when coupled with actual, visible support and resistance.

You can find this indicator in Basber's post #3349 on page #224 of this thread.

I also like to use the H1 channel. Adding this and the midpivots should not clutter your chart too badly.

As Basber said, focus on wave analysis, and not the indicators themselves. Use the indicators to help you locate S/R.

That does not seem to be the highest yearly period though, Sep 2008 and Dec 2008 were actually higher.

The horizontal line is the Aug 5th high.

I have a question on entries. I came home to find this on the EUR/USD. EU is in consolidation but has broken out of the trend line. Prevailing trend and signals point at downward price action. Can someone give me their input and reasoning on entering or not entering given the current conditions.

Also, THANKS for the support and a great thread.

Perhaps, I am starting to see Basbers wave a little more pronounced after removing all the junk off my charts.

It is a start anyway.
To be honest, I was getting withdrawal symptoms after trashing the indicators I relied on so much. Panic set in, I CAN'T TRADE WITHOUT THESE TOOLS!

The fact of the matter is, I couldn't really trade with them.

PS: Hmmm A looks like it may be ok. Not so sure about B as the retracement into the tunnel is deeper than the initial DOWN wave,

C looks like it may not be valid either as their is only 1 BLUE retracement candle.

Still PONDERING this open secret.

Someone mentioned that it was the yearly high but, I get the feeling this is not what Sonic is showing me, somehow. A yearly high is not going to give us many trading opportunities now is it?

Feels more like, finding the trend reversal on the higher TF and maybe a pinbar with an IB after it, then moving down to lower TF to catch the wave that is generated by it.

Still pondering though.....Ponder, Ponder, Pondeeeeeeeeer!

Good question, I will be watching for answers also.

With my limited experience, all I can say is, looking at the Sonic Tunnel in terms of the Chris Clock, (Just a clock) it is pointing at 3:00 PM which is flat, sonic manual recomends avoiding 3 O'clock for any trade.

Pay attention to the angle of the slope on Tunnel Dragon (or three 34MAs). The steeper, the better. Avoid horizontal ranging periods. (Direction of angle : Long 1 to 2 O’clock, Short 4 to 5 O’clock, avoid 3 O’clock ranging)

GU H1 & H4: Been ranging since the drop on week's first session. The saying is that the longer the range, the better the breakout. H1 shows similar situation where ranging lasted thru several sessions. As much as I'd like to see this continue down, the H4 reminds me that the price could either go down thru the TL shown, OR it could make a good sized pip Head Fake first up to the region of the 89 MA and our Dragon/Wave/Tradeband.
