as said im no flag expert, but i do consider myself a expert on time (tick tock). that was a 4 hour chart.. above that is a day chart. if i just use day chart i see a bull flag. besides that china is lying and buying.. and jobs are bad.. so im ok.. so let the eagle fly

S&P has been unable to best 38.2% Fib of 1575-665 move at 1010. Treading water at congestion support near 992-995. Next support 985 and 970.

China is KEY here when it comes to buying the US Bonds. When they stop and this article says clearer they are then the FED prints more paper and the Treasury sells US Bonds then the FED sends the NEW MONEY printed to other central banks and they move the monoply money around until one day Gold trades at $5000 US an ounce.

History just keeps repeating. Everything...
china is still buying. and lying.. blaming their economic problems that they are hiding on the usd. china has problems and the typical move is to point in another direction..the population has tasted the sunshine of freedom. now they will have problems keeping a population in check with a worsening ecomomy.

just seems kinda strange to
usd rate hike speculation, cable and euro sold in a hurry and now forming base before announcement tomorrow

yes...does this in cosolidation too.. its a coin toss.. reversal or not.. this is the place to make a lot of money or lose a lot or both..

You will learn much by reading and understanding this. If you are just a technical trader than just pass it by. I trade by being informed which also includes being informed on the present pulse of the market which the technicals do a good job on.

The Dow recovered some and EUR/USD bounced some. The afternoon session mixed in with the US Bond sales should make for some movements in the last hour of trading. Watch the US Bond yields as we move towards 4:00 PM EST

The Yields at this moment for benchmark points of reference is now 1.19% on the 2 Year US Bonds and 3.72% on the 10 Year US Bonds with the spread being 253 basis points.

The Pound And The Emperor With No ClothesWritten By TeamLFBTrade Desk Thoughts:

The last three days of trade have seen the pound dropping at an sustainable pace, as traders price in a weaker recovery of the U.K. economy.

The downtrend was started on Thursday, following the Bank of England interest rate decision, where the bank's Monetary Policy Committee decided to surprise the market by expanding, for a second consecutive time, the asset buying program.

The main purpose of the asset buying program is to increase the price of U.K. corporate bonds, commercial paper and gilts (debt instruments issued by the U.K. government), thus reducing the yield and make re-financing cheaper. In addition, the bank intends to boost the money supply in order to drive up nominal spending at a time when production remains flat or decreasing; a move that would spark inflation.

The Bank of England has intimated for some time that it is likely to miss the inflation target of 2%, over the next few quarters, according to the quarterly Inflation Reports. The next Inflation Report is due to be released on Wednesday, and is likely to have a crucial influence over the pound's valuation.

Usually traders use the Inflation Report for two main purposes: to explain the decisions previously taken by the Monetary Policy Committee, and to gauge the bank's expectations regarding inflation and output, on which the BoE's monetary policy decisions are taken. Most market participants expect the inflation report to show a stronger output from 2010 (which currently is slightly above 1%).

Another view is that the Inflation Report is likely to show a downward shift in the inflation projections, which according to TheLFB-Forex.com Trade Team, was the main cause behind the decision to increase the size of the asset buying program, announced last week.

To put the asset buying program to work, the bank has at its disposal £175 billion, or roughly 30% of the entire gilt market. This is a massive amount of government debt to finance, which is reflected in the pound's reducing value, as the BoE is printing money that yields 0.25%. In reality the Bank is producing money that is as close to being free as most have ever seen.

In the short-term, the currency market will focus on the reasons why the BoE decided to increase the size of the asset buying program, at a time when the market expected the program to be shut down, since the global economy is seen to be on the recovery path. If the BoE adds to the printing press assault, and downgrades its growth forecast, the pound will probably see some strong, institutional sized, sell orders.

A similar short-pound reaction will happen if the BoE hints that the size of the asset buying program will be expanded again in the future. This would probably happen if the updated inflation projections suffer a large decrease from the one released in May. The Inflation Report gets in under the radar of most forex traders, and this is notice being posted that to ignore the August report is sheer folly. This is as pivotal a time for U.K. economics as has been seen since the 2007 inception of the sub-prime crisis, and could dwarf the credit crisis reaction if the U.K. reveals weakness at a time that the global economy is looking for stories of strength.

The U.K. is a serviced based economy, that is also on of the larger global exporters, and as such will be content with a reduced Gbp valuation against the Eur, Chf, Jpy, and Usd. The fact that the U.K., and U.S. are the larger owners of each other's government debt will also have a bearing on Wednesday's report, as the battle for fair value on yields and currency rates takes place.
Could the U.K. be the first region to openly admit that forward GDP-to-Debt ratios are further out of line than most would have thought to imagine?

If so, the Emperor's New Clothes revelation may have huge currency value ramifications, for other regions that are hiding massive debt-to-growth issues, behind what they think is a veil of secrecy. The U.K. is certainly not in any way a global economic outcast; moreover it is in some regards a bastion that links the global trading world. For the U.K. to reveal a massive weakness in what the Bank of England perceived as potential growth, and for them to be so far off the mark in regard to the depth that the economy dropped into recession, may just force others to reveal their own hands.

The Emperor may well have no clothes on, and Wednesday may be the day that all is revealed, especially as the Federal Open Market Committee release the U.S. rate decision on the same afternoon. Maybe we will see two Emperors' without clothes, and if so, who will be the first to shout it out?

TheLFB trade signals, and trade plan preparations will be key to plotting a path through Wednesday trade, and that allows us to be ready to make the call that all is not as it is perceived to be.


Major Pairs: The majors are showing completely mixed reads on trend and momentum, and right now signal that the market does not have the energy to finish the swing change that it started during the last week of trade. The market gave the impression that it wanted to sell the dollar lower in the overnight session, but equity and commodity markets ran out of forward momentum, and the dollar was bought. The calendar is quiet now until springing to life on Wednesday, and as such the major pairs will be lead by the nose along the path trodden by equity traders on Tuesday.

If the dollar fails now to add to the recent moves, after seeing an equity based collapse, the majors may regain control of the swing change. However, to see the dollar get bought heavily ahead of the FOMC rate decision will signal a big change in sentiment, that may also spell a tough time for equity market trade in August. When the Usd moves higher it is harder for equity traders to hold things in the green, and overall August is deemed historically to be a positive stock trading month, with the proviso that on the few years that August trades in the red, it tends to fail in style.

Oil and Equities: Long trends and neutral momentum, equals a possible swing point on the global Usd drivers. We are looking now for the economic calendar to kick in and lead things fundamentally. If oil and equities start to move, so will the currency market, and right now that overall trend is long on the global drivers and still short on the Usd.

That is in contrast the the dollar index which has the greenback dominant in the near-term, however the momentum reads are all over the charts on the equity, commodity, and currency reads, and that is a red flag to observe in regard to the market's ability to easily follow through, in either direction. Gold and euro have succumbed to Usd buying, the oil and equity markets still have some fight in them to hold the higher ground, and continue to hold their 4 hour chart long trend reads.
