I think today we will exit this range and my opinion is that the exit will be to the downside. We had bad economic news yesterday from US, today there are no news and tomorrow I expect more bad news regarding NFP.

You call the ECB rate decision + press conference no news? I think we'll see some movement if Trichet hints to the fact that he thinks the EUR is overvalued, or if he says he doesn't care (which I see possible as he doesn't seem to care about anything else but inflation)

Well, I think BOE and ECB will bring nothing new. For now my opinion is that only US matters and only US moves the markets. All of them: stocks, commodities, forex. Europe has no influence at all, or a best only a minor and short term (intraday) influence.

From what I see on the daily chart, my bias is for short, although I have not placed a trade. Can it break the upper sub-trend line and go for the 45's, 46's or even the 47's and more? Sure it can. Will it though? Who know's? If a gun was at my head, I'd say short until the lower sub-trend line, and then see what happens from there on. Nice. Completly agree. Strong ressitent determin also on weekly chart should bring him down. If, of course today news don't change this flat in some not expective direction.

Trichet should care only about inflation. From this point of view, he should want EUSUSD up as lond as OIL is up. And OIL is up rightnow. This is why I doubt that he will say EURUSD is overvalued.

Thanks. It's Thursday night here, so if nothing much happens tonight and I wake up to more of the same, I'm tempted to resign myself to not seeing anything spectacular this week. That's ok though.....I'm more patient than the market realises!!
