I understand your concerns, and, as a matter of fact, I shared them myself as I considered whether or not to take this trade. This is indeed not a perfect situation. A better first TP1 would be at that high. You are right, though - not perfect by any means.

DD, how did that GBP/USD long trade go?

Nope ... it grabbed pips from me!

I am +80 and -40 for +40 net, but this EJ long looks like it might take me for another -40 which puts me straight back to +0.

It happens, especially as I insist on trading Asia. Let's not forget that my +80 came during an overnight London trade, and my GU loss was Asia, and, if this EJ becomes a loser, it is Asia as well. Sonic advises NOT to trade Asia, so, any SonicR traded during Asia is not a Sonic-approved SonicR.

I usually only trade the Yen crosses during Asia. I have had much success trading EJ especially during Asia. Last night was a fluke - I do not usually trade GU during Asia. But EJ, GJ, and UJ have done well for me during all sessions, including Asia.

I just wanted to make sure newer people reading this didn't get too discouraged if they read my losing GU last night. SonicR is a great system, and newer traders should stick to Sonic's rules for it.

Guys,

Trading is like making sure all the conditions in you favour and minimising the odds against you. That will give you a profitable trade.
To me, trading during Asian is like adding yourself unnecessary odds that will most likely go against you.
So, I will rather stay put during Asian Time

DD. I know you didn't take this EJ trade by Sonicr rules but I am wondering what got you to take this trade, with the LH & LL right before you entered.

Just for my reference as I also seem to take the occasional trade like this and I am starting to wonder, why this is?

Well, the only SonicR rule I violated was that I traded during Asia. Everything else about the trade, I believe, is in keeping with SonicR.

In my opinion, you have misidentified the pertinent swing points for wave analysis. You seem to be identifying minor moves within a larger swing. I may be wrong, but if you look at my chart, this is how I have come to look for SonicR waves.

You may be right DD, as you said before, I can't see the wall for the bricks, sometimes.


My eye seems to get caught up on the LH & LL for some reason in these short waves.

WHile I uderstand the benefit of scaling in, I don't really get this part.

How can he take profit if price does not exceed the original EP?

WHile I uderstand the...
That means since the person buy in 3 times with 3 different prices...so his avg price(see green dotted line) is 'cheaper' than 1st entry (e.g 1.298)..

so once the price bounce back up to 1.298 level... He is already in + region...

What happens if after his third LONG entry, price continues to go South?
Considering he is going LONG while price is declining towards his STOP, I think is not for those of the faint of heart.

I must be really hung over from last night as I can only see that trade 3 is in profit at his BE point. Therefore, I do not see the benefit of entering trade 1 & 2 so early. I understand that his 3rd trade is the largest and will cover the first two trades. Still. aren't those trades still going to undermine the 3rd trade to some extent?

On my charts it looks like most of them are moving in the opposite direction to the Long term trend.

I am staying out till London opens.

I've been reading this thread since yesterday. I think this system is good. But i downloaded the attachments and the sonicv3 refused to download. Can i trade with sonicrv1 and 2 only?
