Good thing i am flat. Just got my new platform changes from my broker for the NFP rules that go into effect July1.

I trade several accounts with them. The issue seems to be while hedging is not allowed in the same account, under the new rules, is hedging allowed in different accounts with the same broker? Apparently they forgot to set up that feature from the old platform!

Good thing i was wise enough to try the new rules out in demo first. One cancels other.....if then....oldest trade closes first. What a bunch of crap. I may be able to figure out all that stuff but i will be able to take trades in opposite directions.......with my next broker!

I forgot to mention....... i cannot take a trade in either direction.

I am thinking the same thing is going on in my live account so if i had anything open I could not manage it. I would have to call them and close it i guess.

Unless you use a UK broker no US broker can allow hedging on same account reason why most the guys here have 2 or more accounts. Oanda used to let you have multiple orders open now they cancel each other.

GFT has never had hedging on same account. So I have always had 2 accounts with them. It is a pain just like the SL.Limit bull. It is nothing more than a internal paperwork issue which some brokers aren't willing to do.. It didn't effect a lot of them as they were already doing it the right way I guess..

Good thing for checking that out could have caught you with your pants down,, So to speak. I am sure you will get it straightened out.

I'm glad my primary broker has never allowed hedging. This is a no issue for me. If the trade is against me, it's against me and the trade was wrong. I'll take the loss and move on to a new trade, or, I'll be a stubborn mule and keep throwing money at the trade trying to move the market which always proves to be futile. I currently have two accounts and in the need of a 3rd account. I'm going to contact my primary broker tomorrow and see if I open another account with them if I can go opposite of my main account. I should be able to since it's a different account, other wise, I'll find a 3rd broker which will probably be a non US broker.

Anyways, as to the market, I'm still short and looking for an opportunity to get in long. I'm thinking I might have just missed it at 6465, but I kinda have my eye on the 645x-644x area and eyeying the 6400 area as well. Overall, I'm bearish on intent to finish the monthly candle out as a bearish candle breaking out of the current range and shifting to another range south of the current range.

yeah eo....i bailed, broker wanted me to switch to new rules so i closed everything and downloaded the upgrade.

Apparently hedging means trading in both directions and there is an issue about managing multiple accounts in different directions with the same broker.

I just checked out InterbankFX and they seem to gotten around it with MT4 by requiring u to log out of one account and log back in to another..... I think that is what they were doing. It looked fairly simple but could not tell if you could manage all accounts from 1 window.

No more trading for me till i function again or get a new foreign broker.

Yeah Ken....i was aware of that same account stuff and have not been able to trade opposite in the same account for a while but i do have several accounts set up. Managing multiple accounts in different directions through 1 broker seems to be the issue, (it could just be my broker). Right now i cannot do that and i cannot even enter a trade because i get an error message saying hedging is not allowed. I don't have any trades open and can still not place a trade.

Last thing support said was..... send a screen shot to tech support and we will get back to u.

another awfully dull day so far. All the action this week has come during asian session. Markets seem to be at an important turning point with the US indices showing that market-topping broadening formation. Just hope we get some real movement again soon.

Did you just get the 15min 35/50 cross at the turn of midday

I was replying to macc and 30 seconds from candle open it gave up 12 pips



edit: there is u.s. data out in 2 hours and 3 hours maybe it will help with direction ???

no I missed it too. I don't take the 35/50 unless I see a larger reason for doing so and in this case there was a good one with the way 1h closed above that resistance zone. If the past few afternoons are anything to judge by then that was probably the best trading chance of the day! lol

One extra confluence was the 50 fib retrace of the asian / frankfurt up move from 1.64549 to 1.65547

The 3rd test this morning of 1.6505 ish and testing again as I write this

Sorry if I was a distraction Rob I'm usually MY biggest distraction

I took the 35/50 as the 15m candle that made the cross also closed at the 50 sma and the 50%fib. I subsequently closed all out at the close of the reversal candle as it was back at the 10ema, and then, as we'd made another 35/50 cross, I went short, this time being with the 15m trend rather than against.

Sorry Rob. Just saw your above post when my browser refreshed where you had already mentioning the 50% fib.

I also had 16508 as a possible support off my daily
