a few others to add.. 4257 4233 4160 4136 4060 4041....lately numbers in these positions in the zone have been comming up..normaly they are weak..and work for scalpers.. lately they are pretty tough

yeah i'm with you, predominant pattern on this chart is a bear. There's reluctance to buy over 4230. Still Asians are on and the underlying bull power is there. Anyway holding short avg 4225.

I think the equities/Euro correlation is unwinding. Nikkei up big with little Fx movement, much like Thurs. and Fri. Oh, and hey y'all. Longtime lurker, almost first time poster.

Purely from a technical perspective, the euro is poised to take off against the dollar. All week long, the euro has consolidated in a tight range roughly between 1.4290 and 1.4100, which resembles a Bull Flag formation readying itself for an upside thrust. If such a thrust unfolds, then we should expect EUR/USD to climb to 1.4400-1.4500 next. At this juncture, only a decline that breaks and sustains under 1.4000 will begin to compromise the current bullish set-up. Barring a break of 1.4000, gold and silver prices – the SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE: GLD) and iShares Silver Trust (NYSE: SLV) -- should react positively to an upside thrust in the euro, as should the CurrencyShares Euro Trust (NYSE: FXE).

Yes , diamond is more common & expanding triangle very rare . Now it seems developing a diamond but we will see if it breaks up 1.4270 & hold then triangle hypothesis may stand otherwise back to 1.4187 area again.
the centre of the pendulum should arround 1.4225.

Lets see what Frankfort & London boys play for the day..

EUR/USD Open 1.4213 High 1.4249 Low 1.4141 Close 1.4196
On Friday Euro/Dollar climbed from the 1.4141 bottom up to 1.4249, closing the week lower at 1.4141. There is a narrowing trading range on the 1 hour chart, indicating consolidating market with unclear direction yet. Our preferable scenario in the short term is downwards. An important key resistance upwards is Friday's peak at 1.4250 level. Break above this quote may trigger further rising impetus towards next upwards objective 1.4380. The nearest support is represented by Friday's bottom 1.4140 level. If that level is penetrated, we may see further decreasing impulse with possible test of 1.4020. The CCI indicator is neutral on the 1 hour chart, indicating calm trading.

Technical resistance levels: 1.4250 1.4380 1.4500

Technical support levels: 1.4140 1.4020 1.3900

Trading range: 1.4250 - 1.4185

Trend: Downward

Sell at 1.4236 SL 1.4266 TP 1.4196

so support 1.4140 have already near meet & resistant 1.4250 be possibly break soon, what next ? the 2nd resistant 1.4380. hope it come true this time , first to break & hold 1.4270/80 area.
