I just opened a clean chart on mine. No the head has to be higher than the shoulders but I won't be closing my short, yet.

they can be quite naughtly at times ( false signals .. especially near impt levels like 1.42 )

US stocks up=US $ up=other major currencies down=GOLD down

Broadly, investors are using their dollars to buy equities, hence USD gets weaker. When we have a sell off in equities, currency traders trapped with shorts on EUR/USD will get paid.

When stocks are going up, your broker is stealing your money.
When the Dollar goes up, the government is stealing your money.
When foreign currencies go up, inflation is stealing your money,
I guess if you buy gold at $1K per oz. the bullion dealer is shafting you too !

That's how they all tie in together.

Short description: These are all moneys and they all suck now a days.

Long Description:
There are correlations, but many factors affect such correlations and therefore these correlations keep on changing. Sometime these correlations take 180 degree turn, totally opposite depending upon the nature of change in the factors establishing such correlations. In simple words these correlations are neither fixed nor directly proportional.

Stocks represent properties (tangible and intangible) if dollar goes down its purchasing power lessens and therefore stocks (that represent properties) should go up. However, if dollar goes down because economy is not good, there will be less investment in stocks.

Price of gold is denoted in USD. If USD goes down more $ will be required to buy equal amount of gold and therefore gold will go high. Gold also goes high if there is more demand of gold regardless of curreny values. If there is uncertainty in stocks or currencies people may invest in gold. Same is true for oil.
