IP, what is the toogle HA good for, or is it just another name for an HA indi?

dear friends,
please, can anyone highlight which is exactly the latest indicators you are using?
I am still on divergence v 4.01, but in some screenshots I see using v 5.0
where can I get the latest setup?
probably update necessary on FIRST post, because I tried to reset it, and still the same indicators and template.

also a friend of mine have downloaded one a bit different, with ROUND pivot lines, see attachment - is it still in use?

V4.01 and V5 are the same, onle the default settings are different.

The round lines are from a COG indicator which is not part of THV since V1.

COG is a countertrend trading and THV is trend trading.

Trix Ichi lights -in order from top to bottom:

5,1,15,60

Optimized color settings so there's no question about what's going on.

15M trix not necessary here higher TF allow for a better picture of PA--his is where candles come into play.

I've also removed the color from the Trix coral--- on 5M the color doesn't make a difference-and will confuse you. It's the aqua line.

However, with higher TF's you need smaller numbers on the indicators to get more accurate results, so I've put in my own "coral" the purple one--which not only gives you a more accurate signal, but shows you which whay the price is going99continue the line with your imagination.

You choose which hull line you like. Mine is just a moving average of EMA 21 shift 1 [close]

I also don't wait for 3 lights--15M confirmation is sufficient pending you mind the Trix [for safe trades] .

All indicators are in previous posts.

Also to note when trading Trix on higher TF's than 1M--for this you're not necessarily looking for the hull line of the Trix to be above/below 0--you're looking for the thin signal line to pass through for a valid signal-- like in picture below there's a nice buy trade signal line crossed through before the hull line. Double bounce off S/R--nice [I took some of that move myself]

That's Miss Pips' Toggle HA indicator--- I like it as it has alerts and also has the option to see the regular candles.

Just keepin' things pure THV. [if that's OK]

You can actually upload a compressed .zip file, but then you run the risk of lots of people saying the file is corrupt as they can not open it .... hmmm

So I think always best to just post the indi's

What I mean is that I tested the 6 point mtf system with a fixed tp at 10 pips, because I didn't have the patience to manage the trade which was my own limitation, and that's why that is what is recommended in the mtf manual. The more advanced traders don't do this. They manage their trades and target something like a resistence line or a 00 level, or they wait until the trix turns red or they trail their stops instead of just getting out at 10 pips. 10 pips is fine, but the good traders with more patience get more. (See Cobra's first post -Exit: Faster Trix changes color and/or touch of a known good resistance/support level.)

I also find I like the MTF trix indie very much because it shows you the shape of the trix.

However, regarding the repainting of the trix histo - the trix histo shows you what happened minute by minute iwith the trix indie inside a five minute bar on a one minute chart (for example). If the inside that five minues the trix histo was green for two minutes and red for three it shows you two red bars and three green ones. After the five minutes is up however all it knows is the final result, not what happend in real time. If you initialze the trix histo or add it to the chart after that five minutes was up, and the final result on the five min chart was red you will see five red bars. You are going to have that problem with any mtf indie.
In addition, the trix itself sometimes repaints backward one bar, making it not match the mtf indies.

Here are two examples. One shows the mtf histo showing the change in the bars minute by minute from red to green on the one min chart while the mtf trix is showing green at the end of the 5 min period on the one min chart (the actual 5 m trix is red by that time), and then after you init the mtf trix on the 1 m chart, it shows red for that same period. The second shows the actual slow 15 trix red from 2:45 to 3:00 while the mtf slow trix is green.





I also don't use the repainting Trix indicator [histo]

I'd like to personally thank whoever created the "MTF" Trix indie-saves me from switching screens so much.

Hi MissPips.

I believe that maybe the repainting could not be a problem during live trading, but it could be for looking at the past trying to understand entries and exits.

I am a newbye in coding, but it could not be possible to use the MQL array functions in order to record indies status bar per bar, and show only those data in the graph ?

Yes, you are correct. Repainting is not a problem during live trading (using the trix histo anyway because it shows you minute by minute what is happening. I'm not sure about the mtf trix because the screen shot I posted above shows it is green for 5 1 min bars exactly at the close of a bar that closed red on the 5 min trix, and then red for that period when it is initialized a few minutes later after that 5m bar had closed. If you were trading using the trix histo you would have seen that the 5 m trix had gone red, but using the mtf trix you would not have) .

Repainting is only a problem with the trix histo when you are trying to manually backtest by looking at a chart to which you have added the trix histo 'after the fact'.

I'm not sure I know what you mean about using an array. I do use the mtf build in time arrays and what you see in real time is the status of the trix on the higer tf, minute by minute. But if you add the trix histo to the one minute chart after a particular 5 min bar is closed (for example) it doesn't know what happened during each of those five minutes with the 5 min trix. All it knows at that point is the final result of the 5 min bar at close (red or green) so it paints all those 5 1 min bars red or all green.

You are right; I am probably confused on the way of working of arrays. Maybe also they go overwritten by new incoming data.

I was just thinking to save the timeframe arrays in a file, and add to them a new status value at each incoming TF bar, so that opening the chart I could find the past data drawn retrieved from that file.

One of the advantages of trading multiple pairs is you can avoid the lottery of the News Release. However no currency pair actually moves in isolation - it is often the ripple in the pond effect.

If you were trading EURGBP this morning you had no immediate news releases showing, but 1st cousin GBPUSD did have a news release and both pairs started moving at exactly the same time.

So if you are trying to avoid the news release lottery, also check the other close family members.

Maybe you could do that, but I think it would be really complicated because you would have to be working with native MT4 data coming in and stored data from the indie, which would also have to be intermixed with native mt4 data when you didn't have any stored data for that period(for all possible timeframes). It's beyond my abilities :-).

I was just thinking to save the timeframe arrays in a file, and add to them a new status value at each incoming TF bar, so that opening the chart I could find the past data drawn retrieved from that file.
