if any one here have good experience in fundamental analysis can he please
explain the run up ?

or at least what was in the Donald Kohn testimony that triggered this move ?

and the important question is it sustainable ?

However the euro is in a downtrend after rolling over and also we are overbought on the hourly with long candle tails to the upside

i totally agree with you i have been absnet for a long time and it seems that a lot of fishers,,, trying to get re-assurance of what trade to enter no system no nothing i see why most of the people that really know what there doing dont even visist the forum no more,,,

as far as I can see, improvement in stockmarkets and therefore less need to safe heaven which drove the USD up earlier.
Another question is how long the USD will be seen as safe heaven......

The long term Bond Auction went badly - I believe this is the main reason for fall in the $.

I am in a short, target 1.3981. I am a very big candlestick, stochastic trader and the market is showing overbought on the hourly. The next obvious resistance that I can see on my charts is at the 1.3975 to .3985 level.

In my humble opinion:
Like many people said E/U is overbought atm. Many will put sell orders around 1.4 what will move the market downwards (once again!) and 1.3945 would be hit (or very near). But if I watch the latest movements I think it will drop much further and can hit 1.39 (maybe not by the end of the week).
We're at the quiet E/U hours, so I don't expect much volality, but a slow down movement until tomorrows open of the euro and as usual then it will get an extra punch down.

[EDIT] If we first go down 1.4 and get a spike up thereafter to continue the downtrend we can start screaming about manipulation of the market

Welcome, glad you found my calls useful in your trading. Good to have another style trader here also.
The market is looking primed to short, if GU had got near 1.6400 that would be juicy trade also, but this thing could go for another hour before it's ready. I'm leaving my longs for tomorrow as it's getting too late in the session. May short if this level hold through till next hour.

If this would happen when the euro session was open I would believe it, now it's closed and the bull flag is formed due to low volality. So I wouldn't bet to go long. THIS IS MY OPINION and interpretation of the market. But 4050 is such a small movement that could be possible even if it would be an overal downtrend... higher than 4050? I doubt seriously.
