Hey, TraderAthome, in my honest humble ultra-noob opinion in order for price to freely move up for example without any significant resistance to be found market makers/manipulators/operators/banks/swarms of hedgies would probably try to accumulate enough longs to dry up the remaining floating supply which could eventually prevent price for further up moves. I guess this could be observed when you see price trying to "base" and it looks like a box or a rounded bottom with wicks to the downside and some bullish hammers that u could discern forming. Basically I think that they try to dry up the remainig supply that is out there by absorbing it thus "accumulating/stacking" longs and then launch a crushing move up which would also trigger weak shorts`stops who came late to the party. They can only do so much tho since somewhere along the line a bigger fish would probably see price as ripe for shorting at some point in time.

I really hope I am not terribly far off from the right explanation but I think that this could be the basic market mechanism for fast and furious moves. Drying up the floating supply/demand that could be a possible barrier and then launching the premeditated move.

It is the "...then launch a crushing move up...." whose mechanics needs explaining, since such moves obviously have nothing to do with any real relative value within the currency pair involved, and nothing to do with the established trading range. Such moves "just happen", as though someone waved a magic wand! ......whamo, within minutes the price is 100+ pips away! And sometimes, WITHIN A FEW HOURS, whamo.....and the price is right back where it started from!!!!! It all happens too often, and too fast for it to require that some "consortium" has "bought up" all the available positions such that supply is dry before it happens.

You are looking to go long again now... As a noob may I ask why? Even the 5 minute chart doesn't really show that the down trend is over.

I dont think long would be a good play right now. Wait for Daily close and see how Asian sessino reacts. My insticnt tells me that we might be going higher cause we aren't crashing if the fed gave any signals of dollar strenghts we would have crashed so i wouls said wait patiently till at least next week

banks trade against each other and like all other traders, mostly lose. They make there money in fx from the commision (spread) they charge from actually exchanging money for their clients, not from trading which as I said, is mostly done at a loss. except for the most illiquid times, banks cannot deliberately move this market. They are at the mercy of the market and have no idea what will happen to price in the future. No participant can launch a crushing move. The playing field is level. With a good broker, the retail trader has as much chance as anybody else of taking pips

hi fellas i am short at 1.3939 and intend to trail it to 1.3843 using 50 pips stop ,as my 30min has a downward channel same as my 1H.what do u guys think.

jw's parobolic 4h has turned bearish.. the day still bullish but it only had 2 dots.. bull may be sleeping.. rci macd stochastic show signs of going down..day ect. if nothing changes we go down. check out these indies..learn to use them. things can change and downs not a straight line.. 4 steps foward 3 steps

japans in the toilet.. asian session should continue lower move.. but im no rocket surgen.. just a nut on the net.. beating same old drum about gasoline and copper.. oil commodities..things are less rosy then the elite are saying..japan exports down 40% e-z should be down at least half that percentage. wallmart is the canary in the coal mine for how china is doing.

Ok let me be more specific there are two settings start time and candles to show, the first is automaticly at 0 but my daily candles start at 19 because im us/central so i assume i should put that at 19 and the next one im wondering if i should put 24 and set it on the hourly chart? kind of confusing

Oh, the six lights method of MissPips, yep that is 1M scalping and sometimes let a good trade run on higher TF's.

If you like that method please follow the posts of MissPips regarding the MTF trading method.

I trade multi screens instead as I like to see the Trix pattern for divergence detection.

I don't believe Darkstar specifically had a "Stop hunting" thread but he does cover that sort of thing in this one and of course it should be on a Short List of Required Reading before trading live, starting new theads, or even posting at FF imo.

Thanks Gator for all the info. I know all of those indicators, but I mostly use none... Sometimes I use TSI indicator, not many people use it... But I kinda like it because it has (almost) no lag. Ah, maybe it is just me to have something to confirm myself.

I'm actually strugling with myself to stop scalping. I'm investing my time on the dayly and 4H chart. My goal is to enter no SL nor TP. And evaluating at the end of the day to lock in or take profits, and for losses to keep the trades open if the trend is changing or accepting the loss. That way it would be more relaxing to trade. Ofcourse that would be with a very small % so it wouldn't hurt if a day is -250 pips...

Well maybe many people will find it silly, I donno...

1.3837 is so close to my 1.3850 number, it's like a magnet that keeps on coming back. EU is hitting 1.3850 for over a month now that I think it once will slice through it to stall at some lower point.
