They are correlated because DAX mainly follows DJIA. ZEW does not affect US equities (maybe does but to a short measure).

hmm last spike retraced too 8 pips above 38.2 of the move down since 4179.. with this news. (German /russia) we still got some u.s. news that could move us.. but the move thus far is a dud.. it should of moved more it had the normal retrace behind it plus some news..
