For me, the place to be is the european opening. I almost never miss 2230-0200 PDT. I scalp and let well-placed scalps run for swing trades, and if I have swing trades running I will get up at the NY open to check those & maybe scalp some more if I did not hit my $ target during the late night. Asian session I typically miss - too slow for my taste.

Ok..yeah..that's what I'm leaning more towards...London open...seems the moves are a bit less erratic as there are less news event's and less chop. Thanks for your input.

Hello,
I would have loved to share this earlier but i was in class so sorry.

I am one of those who believe we are in an up trend with my second target at 1.4830 and so must confess i was caught in the bear move,but i was so confident there would be a substantial retrace.From experiance when a trend is bulldosed that way their is usually a significant retrace before a consolidation expecially in this case where she went pass a key number of 1.3941 strongly,BUT hey nothing is 100% in this bussiness SO i would have been burnt.BUT thats old news here is what i am seeing:

the bears made a strong statement i must say,so i have replaced all my longs with shorts starting from 1.4104 with my SL at 1.4194 and 1.4241.If price hits those levels i would switch to longs and aim for my pre-determined target.So you would say why did i go short,thats simply because the R/R ratio was inviting.Now if things go well we are heading to 1.3494 area more so their is a potential H&S on the 4hr TF and i have noticed consistent H&S recently, so this trade is simple logic.

edit:WE might have a 100 or so pips retrace at 1.3883 area so be carefull if price gets there.I pray things go well because at times like this what my system normally says is "STAY OUT"so this is a bit of a gamble.Good luck to you all and if you have any comments feel free to let them fly.

You're welcome, ragu & good luck to you. Actually though I would disagree with your points: plenty of eurozone news announcements will come out typically from 2300 PDT to 0200, and; there are plenty of erratic moves in this time period, as well, in fact it is notoriuos for these. But personally I like to trade in chop as I am looking for quick & small (pip-wise) profits with large entries and I also like to trade on the news reactions.

I will tell you one thing though that I have learned (the hard way) after about 30 days now of live trading (I know, huge experience): the actual time that I choose to trade is critical to my positive results. Almost all of the stupid (and very costly) mistakes I have made have been instiagated when I was too tired to think straight & should have been asleep.
