Conjecture at the moment, but here's a possible scenario I have in mind for late. Market fall 100 poins from here, sets up a perfect H&S in 4 hour, does a small fake out below, trapping all pattern traders short then boom, up we go.
Just conjecture. In the meantime, small term TF trend is up.

true...it does look like it....and would be the most logical move the markets can make if there was a TRUE reversal. i mean lets think about it logically...ever since we reached 1.37...technicals were pretty much thrown out the window...much of the reason why i havent been posting. the us equities market went up...oil went up...euro went up..no questions asked. fundamentals didnt fuel the rally up...bullshit did. yesterday...something uncommon in recent days happened...the last made support was BROKEN. that support was 1.4250. if that level proves as resistance now...well we truly got a reversal going on....and if that will be the case..it will be mostly fueled by REAL fundamental data..the ECB rate and the statement accompanying it.

What shorts? I played long in the previousl week. Yesterday and today gave a long shot at both end of the current trade, however played short after last nights testing long for a double top.

Maybe you are talking about my previous method, that changed direction and number of positions as market moved up and down until finding a proper direction to place my position with greater r/r. The last short that I carried all the way from 1.3700 or 1.3800 to I don't know from where I got a moderate retrace was a pain. But was finally able to get my own 1% back, then 1.5% of lost 5% profit, then again 5% on last day of the week (friday) to close the month in green. But that required risking about 30% of equity. After that I changed my method to make it less risky.

If many believe that retracement down is the next step, why not sell set TP @ 100 pips and just wait?

I would say not the rate, but the statement. The rate probably won't change but don't forget that unemployment is up more than expected.
Serious worries going on in Europe also because Euro got too strong.

Definitely a possibility of that. I think it's always good to keep these kinds of things in mind when making your trading plan, as there's no doubt that kind of thing happens.

Example - I bet lots of people were playing the double top yesterday when we got this nice surprise:

Good morning. Usually if pa "respects" at least one of the outer tines of the "fork", and if it tends to retreat back to the middle tine, called the midline or median.

Draw the pitchfork beginning by spotting a middle high or low pivot (depending on the trend of the TF you're drawing in). Add a left/high pivot and then a right/low pivot. The fork appears, and you track it along.

What would your SL be?

I'm actually expecting not only a retracement but a full trend reversal, to put us back in line w/ the downtrend started at 1.60. But I'm not going to play that until it's confirmed, since I can also see the case for a continuation of this current bull run that would take us well above 1.60. Best to wait as see how this 50% fib plays out before taking anything too serious.

lets not forget unemployment in the eurozone ROSE yet again. not only that...last week there was a consumer prices report which was UNCHANGED. now with rates at 1% you would think that report would have risen but it didnt. all this data indicates....rates at 1% or possibly even lower because the eurozone is not far behind the US. tonight will be wild...trichets statement will be the most important speech this year so far. hell...im tired beyond recognition yet im staying up for the entertainment...and the trend that will follow
