Hello and happy pips to all. I see that flag finished out for a 40 pip gain this morning. Nothing out there right now. May go long into the night but likely to consolidate.

Well, 5abi, Japan and some old East European Countries are not as bad as we all expected. The big spotlight was on the Western Economies because they were having the louder show, yet, emerging economies are far better because of more stricter policies.

Want some contries better than US (e-wise?) :

Japan, Canada, Poland, Swizerland...... just to name a few

And then again, everything is at the trader's appreciation of the economy... I am not a techie, but not a fundie either. I take all with a grain of salt, but I think that our hopes precede our economy at this point. we're in deep shit, and stock/risk trader will realize soon that the bottom has not been reached yet.

US debt rating downgrade?

Additional China stimulus?

Only good news US can muster is maybe a slightly better unemployment.

I think a littel inflation would do the US some good right about now.

Charts pointing towards a low re-test of Dec 18 2008 stops at 78.44

Would not think it should go lower at least in the short term.

Indeed, what we all can't know now, is how the "new world balance" will rise from this crysis, so that's why we should expect the unexpected, since it will be surely a market behaviour we've never experienced before.

All we can do is be ready for it, and aware when it happens.

Double top @ 1.3830 in the making? If that happens I'll be shorting heavily.
But with a stop @ 1.3870 because I still think its possible that 1.3850 will be the target. (For now)

Many moves give me few pips. But yesterday, I had to take a lot of risk to earn few. Though I carefully plan my trades and minimize possibility of a disaster beyond a pre-determined risk, the profits are not great. I am now looking for 1) ability to reasonably spotting a trend as it develops, and 2) have a strategy that minimizes my exposure on a trend reversal.

I am seriously considering what you said above plus what Shamu the Killerwhale kindly forwarded to me. They are very useful tools. Though not new, but I am looking at them from a totally different angle.

It seems that someone has switched on the light in the dark room I was sitting in. All I need now is to develop a calculation module. I am working on it.

This all very subjective. depends on where you decide to pick your end from.

I would pick US as the best bet even now to emerge stronger than others faster. May be I have a local bias, but a comparison between Britain/EZ vs US should be a no brainer really.

Btw Canada gets cold when US sneezes and Switzerland has one of the highest debt per capita in world which is higher than US has.

5abi, the best way is not to pick any end, but know them both as better as you can... trust me, it's the best way to profit from either direction
