USD/JPY: Off More, FT Piece On US Rating, BBC DPJ Piece Weighs Tokyo, May 13. Reports overnight (one actually out relatively recently) that the US was in danger of losing its AAA debt rating and that the Japanese opposition, if victorious, would stop purchases of US bonds as part of Japan's foreign reserve management helped push USD/JPY and most other JPY pairs another leg or two lower.

Oh, the more I read, the worse it gets. Two hits in one day for the US$. Hillary is going to have to do a lot more sweet talking. Trendline re-test out of the window for me at the moment.

Not yet, but a pending order. I am almost on sidelines for last few days with 1/10th short positions on three pairs.

ps. But all my calculations say it should comeback near to 1.3500 where my long orders are.

Yes Turveyd. I am a littler longer term this time. Will wait for it to come back near to 1.35xx. I am willing to miss this opportunity. But not convinced that it will go all the way up from here without a retrace. I am looking at 1.5xx but not without a decent retrace from here to 1.42xx. I will only buy on a very decent retrace.

I'm happy watching mostly this week and pinching a few here or there since my shorts got stopped out (+pips tho) whenever...

I try not to trade unless I feel in synch and I don't right now. That said, I been hooked up on some other gigs and haven't tried to engage too hard either...

Here's the pivots and the same old fib I been using for a few days now... still works.

Yes, and the worst usually is after some losses in a row, either a loss in confidence(making you be "afraid") or wanting to get "revenge" on the market. Bottom line is that it's always a psych thing, control and discipline, assuming the plan and system are already proven worthy, of course. If not, back to demo!

Yes indeed. Thank you Spsantos. I have been constructing my plan for nearly 6 months now, and I think I will be ready in another couple. I re-read my plan every day so hopefully something will sink in! At the top of my plan, in bold letters is 'If in doubt....STAY OUT'!

It is really difficult. Much more difficult than I thought. But nothing is harder than a beginning. I am willing to lose money but not confidence on my system. Will keep on following my system. I earned this money and spent time only to try it out.

It is like flying in an airliner. You comfort yourself that every single minute, thousands of flights take off and land, so what is the big deal? Then as a second thought it comes to your mind "But this one has not yet taken off or landed".

ps. Now four out of five accounts in green. Drawdown on one is less than half of the profit I took on a testing trade. $hit - It is mental capital that is important. My deals are much less than usual, but change in scenario makes them appear as if they are giant trades. I should better change my name from Chicky to Chicken.

Hello fellow traders!

I have a question that is a little bit off topic. Are there any people here that trade the Eur/Chf?

Honestly, since the intervention of the SNB I find that pair to be extremely easy to trade. You might have to use a little higher leverage to compensate for the smaller moves, but one doesn't have a very huge risk, since we assume that the Central Bank will step in, if the pair goes to low. I haven't had a loss since the day of the intervention (never risking more than 2%)


Oh, by the way ... i trade this pair almost exclusively from the long side.

Yes Chicky, I'm under no illusions that it will be easy. Once my plan is complete, I will have to get my head in the right place before I begin. I also am not worried about losing my capital, it's the confidence that I can't afford to lose!

ej is just completing a hs on the 4hr.. looks like its doing the r neckline on the day chart now..if it develops its a nice ride..900 pips

I've fallen for it before a few times over the years, trading is never and will never be easy I fear.

I'm aiming for Full time Scalper myself ( not outta choice totally, running outta work and clients another went under today ), time scale 3 months of cash in the account

Hi Samiru,

With your 96% successful trade percentile as you claimed to be, I think it will be a mistakes for you to learn from here(unless you wanna lower it).

And btw, based on your success rate,I have no doubt you will definitely make tons of money from your TRADES and thank goodness not from the TRADERS.

Can you see the difference ?
