this is an excellent use of percentages, and i thought i was a genius being able to calculate time to fill a tank with a 1% a minute leak

by the same yardstick, a 2 % upside in your account makes you weigh about 4 pounds less. and i hope you do have a fly trap installed , forbid if ya gain another 2-4 % later this week

NO, Next two are more important than the first one. Let me explain. If I see an opportunity, it is at a given point of time. If I rely on the opportunity and enter, situation may change soon after that. I am stuck.

So what I do? I build my positions during the process an opportunity is in the making. My entries are complete by the time oppoturnity is fully developed. If opportunity does not develop, I am not fully in and therefore my risk is limited. Same is true for exit.

we will not argue over it, but if you read my post again, I also said opportunity + MM is important-I also said entry and exit important for smaller TF. But if you are a long term trader trading the weekly/daily trends then entry and exit does not really matter. I know people who will not exit out of a trade at all. I have been in 1000 pip trades in which I will not exit unless stopped out (trailing stop that is).

As for Entries, if you know what you are doing you dont really care, I am in a USD-JPY trade from last month. I am looking at it to go to 1.1200-1.1400 in as little as 4 months. If I am stopped out on this I will re-enter. If it does not get there, would be about B/E or may be in a little loss/small profit based on the trailing stops that I use. Now how does it matter if I enter at 99,98,00, or 95? So if you use good MM, manage risk well with stops etc, a light bulb will come on

here is my 2 pence-really no need for it to go down from here, or is there? May be 3325 will be nights low. I am tempted to open a long here as close as possible to 3325...Pivot no too far from here either, 3370....

3700 are imp. fib levels and an important resistance level too IMO. And if that is broken I am thinking 1.4000, and a 4200 is possible. Daily/weekly is oversold, but weekly seem to be hooking around, plus the rising oil etc, I think long trade may be a good idea here. Any takers???

was up 5 pips in eg and got out.. something didnt seem right.. as soon as i exit it went other direction... i was lucky.. i sold gu at 5050 last night it got up 60 pips so i put a 50 trailing stop on it.. and went to bed... woke up stoped out with 14 pips..wish i was up to re-short it at higher price..

You are right. I got your point. However, I trade slightly different. I learned this from Reminiscences of A Stock Operator. "Looking at the market as a whole". When I go for medium term (I am not a long term trader) trade, I also consider shorter time frames. Since I enter gradually, sometimes take profit on smaller time frame and re-enter. This in a bid to maximize my profit while keeping the risk as low as possible. For example, I am currently short on one hour chart, but will re-enter for a long on daily. My sl (which is a long order) on this short will give me few pips and a slightly better entry for long. However, if pa decides to move further south, I have nothing but to bank pips. If I am convinced that it will move south even on daily, I will change my direction and will keep on adding shorts on daily chart.

This not to argue on anyone's methods or trying to prove who's methods work more than other, but to share. We all learn by sharing different opinions and liked your views.

gu moves been north since it touched L trend march. 12 ..the lower trend line started north jan..time frames average 3. jan through march is 3 months. check indis to see if it over sold.. before 5700 north you have to break 5363 not far from here..but before that you got a huge fib at 5281 area..on my weeky ma its just touching my 30 ma..its trying and i wish i had been on the train since march 12..you have higher highs and higher lows..might be safer after 5281 after a day close above 5281...id play the bullish move but i want to see what happens with nfp first for a better price.. if it moves north 20 min after nfp i might get on that long train early ..id feel safer if eu would close above last summer trend line first(where ever that is).if it goes south i would would like to see a pullback to 4820 and a big bull bounce or any of these below 4783 4655 4606 ..if those ceilings are rejected and dollar turn bullish you may see L trend line 3466..all just speculation and not a prediction..

sorry man didnt fully read your post.. saw my post on gu you put up and assumed you were asking about gu..

if eu does a simuilar move you got time.. i would not trade a position if your not gonna be around.. if nfp is way different from adp you might be in far a rough ride either side.. if bad for dollar huge move up with latest trend..if dollar good it may sink equitys and resume lower trend at quick speed.. ill be checking out cad if dollar bearish.. trend already down plus oil will go up to amplify move.

I especially enjoy the one's who have Big Agendas, the kind where we ALL need to STOP everything we're doing cuz it don't work, can't work, never worked, never will work, and START doing what they're doing if we really wanna MAKE IT. Aarrrrggghhhhh to the max...

i do the same sometime maybe im an old bull with bs... but i do enjoy a stiff piece of grass to pick my teeth at times.. when i take emm out..but like the old bull i chew a little cud and spite a little bs..nothing wrong with that..
