Looking for a channel to trade closing up to NFP. This is one possibility but I expect we will have to go to 1 Hr as this settles down. Either way, there will be some great counters out there thru morning up until release. Pair has tested the back side of that 1 Hr UTL and it seems to be holding.

Question for all the experts here:

I'm not sure that i understand this fully...but to me it seems like no matter what the news is....it's always bad for USD. Everytime we get + numbers on US fundies, EUR goes Up, Now we have bad news on EUR and again EUR goes Up. So what kind of news do we need for EUR to go down? Just wondering how this whole thing works b/c as i see it...it seems like no matter what...USD keeps going down.

mm, they do have a lot of bad loans on the books, but they are also cranking out a whole bunch of new ones. wells fargo did 800,000 loans in the first quarter alone. no stated/stated, all income qualifying and a lot of fha, which is 100% insured by uncle sam. plus, is in the process of buying up all those bad loans.

as for retrace, i see small pull backs from here until 9000, then maybe a big breather?

I had the same problem with my model. I came to realise that it is more psychological than system performance. What is the profit/loss ratio of your system? My system has a ratio of four, so on average I should earn 4 in profit for every pound put at risk. The down side is that it some times has a series of losses that I find hard to stomach or that I'm sitting on a heap of pips only to see them evaporate because no exit signal is generated.

But the expectancy/profit ratio changes if I start to second guess the signals of the model. Either, trade it or redevelop it to reflect your exact risk appetite.

Is anyone else trading the bearish butterfly that completed it's initial formation at the 1.3469 high?

I'm presently targeting the equilibrium point of 1.3308-ish but it could move along fast so I would feel better.

(Note: I'm trading the 1-hr and 15m timeframe)

more and more traders are starting to realize that the dollars they have are worthless since the FED is going to send more new ones from the helicopter the next day... so what do you do having those papers ? convert them into something with more value before it is too late...

actually went long and closed out for scalp profit. Stopped trading for next 30 min

Believe me, I have been trading for 10 + years, however, not all in Forex. It's all about momentum, momentum, momentum. I would never trade a news release. I always wait to see where the dust settles, then I trade the aftermath, or momentum it takes when it bounces or breaks. That is the best advice I can give you.

HA yeah im thinking the same damn thing it has gotten weird this week its the black gov figures controlling everything (evil laugh)

You're always best off to just trade the market and ignore the news/reasons why the market's moving. All that matters is how the market reacts.
