I dont get it...why is EUR going up with what Trichet just announced? Shouldn't it be going down down down?

Have you heard the expression "hawkish"?? Clearly this man knows what he's doing. Compared to him, Bernake looks like a circus clown. Just compare these two phrases:

"I am going to print 1000 bilion dollars. If the printing machine breaks I'm gonna buy a new one and print more" (Bernake)

"We're going to inject 60 bilion euros in the market which we're gonna sterilize as soon as conditions start to improve" (Trichet)

I'm on page 120, so, long way to the end of thread, but there is lot of steam in me.
