Slow and sure is always the way to go because quick profits can turn into quick losses.

Glad to say I caught that almost entire move. Hope others were prepared.
I have closed by long for now. 1.3478 on the cards

I prefer to make 20 pips per day with (relatively high leverage) in 1 or 2 trades in 0-4 hours and then close the platform and forget about fx till next morning.

True. The other side of that coin though is - fx market will wear you out and take you apart if you dance with it long anough and multiple times without giving it a serious rest.

Smart trading...

You have NO chance trying to trade the news (buy or sell as soon as the news is released)...the dealers will ALWAYS be in front of you. (you need a broker too that won't play unfair tricks during those high volatility times, those tricks include freezing the platform, some will widen the spread way too much, others will get you filled way to far from the price you wanted to).

Whichever broker you trade with, you are trading through their platform. Consequently, their brokers will therefore have an advantage over you.
To think otherwise is naive.
They are taking the other side of the trade (which they must in "trading the news" because they don't have time to spread their risk), and they will fight tooth and nail not to give away a business advantage to any trader. That's why they are doing all the things (plus much more) outlined above.

I think you misunderstood my post, i am shorting the week before the decision and long after it, but as you know there is much to expect form Trichet speech afterwards as always.
Well, now it is time to change bias and look for buying opportunities on this pair.

My feeling on the EUR at the moment is that there is no clear direction - We've been hanging around in the 150 pip range for a while. Where do you people see the upside target to be?
