If you watch the move, it stutters then it jumps 10pips, outta know where, no ones watching no ones trading it's easy to hit the bids with low volume and get a relatively cheap move down.

The stutters make it horrible to trade though!

I think volatility will be crazy early in the day. By noon (EST time) we will probably experience little to no market movement. Tomorrow is Friday and a Holliday, so if you value you equity it wouldn't be wise to trade unless you are experienced and know what you are doing and/or a scalper.

Ironic really, America takes a day off the Forex markets close rest, europe takes the day off and business as usual.

My info was all wrong on this. Stock Market is closed. Federally regulated banks may be closed, most other businesses will be open. Hey, at least we still get our mail delivered. That's something, right?

Yes, stocks, bonds and futures in USA are closed.

The great thing about trading holidays; during the slow periods, market tends to range and is very predictable. You could get in/out for 10-20 pips.

US only closed on Friday (banks are open), London closed Friday and Monday

Why is this important? I opened a rather big short @ Oanda since the second bottom was a lower low.
If I would have looked @ MT4 I would never have done this at this level.

I can confirm your observation ... unfortunately that doesn´t really help you with your open position

but since you opened it because of potentially false information you might consider closing it

I'm long from 1.3110 but I'm also short from 1.3093 which is because there was most likely a charting error @ Oanda.

[EUR/YEN] falls to 131.90 early in the morning, matching the NY low of 131.90, along with the Eur/Dlr's stop led decline. The Eur has been weak across the board overnight amid growing speculations of ECB's rate to the sub 1.00% territory and fresh financial crisis coming from Europe (while US banks are reported to be able to clear stress tests). US stocks and the Nikkei-225 are higher, but the Dlr and the Yen are not sold.

[EUR/DLR] falls to 1.3090 via stop sales around the NY low of 1.3126 and the Mar 30 low of 1.3113 in very thin condition. Nobotony said yesterday ECB's rate below 1% would be discussed, though he personally is against rate below the level. Trichet said rates can very cautiously be lowered. Wells Fargo saw its Q1 net profits would be $3 billion. US's Feb trade deficits improved to $26.0 billion from $36.2 billion in Jan (forecasts at $36.0 billion). US 10-year yield is higher to 2.9225% from 2.8633%. Lower US deficits means Dlr supply is less. Stocks and Dlr strength is a fresh pattern. Below the Mar 30 low is not a good sign for the Eur, though price actions are bottomish for the moment.


ECB's [PROVOPOULOS] believes that it will prove hard to break the negative loop between the real economy and financial markets, and it will take time before we see the positive results of monetary and fiscal actions. He adds that the ECB weighs up non conventional measures carefully along with conventional means but the main factor affecting ECB policy is how benefits will affect households and businesses. He feels that the negative wealth effect for households will hold back propensity to spend for some time. Provopoulos sees a possible recover next year.

ECB's [TRICHET] also on the wires. The CB head says that the outlook for this year and next year is unchanged and there may be signs of recovery starting next year. He declined to comment on interest rates but says that stimulus plans are mostly adequate and that most of the G20 leaders want to move quickly. He repeats that the deposit rate will not be lowered further, and money market rates in the EU are below those in the US. He once again says the ECB will look at non standard measures.


ECB's [ORPHANIDES] says that the financial crises emphasizes the need for more regulation, and whilst a crisis cannot be averted, efforts can be made to limit their scope and frequency. The present crisis suggests that there are serious gaps in the supervision of the financial system. Nations whose CBs had effective supervision were better placed to deal with the crisis and the model of removing CB oversight has proved inadequate. Any CB supervision must be totally independent and free from political influence.


[EUR/USD] slammed as we approach the EU close with traders telling us that a US custodial is behind the order which is likely to be fix related for 15GMT. The low 1.3193 with a more bearish technical background suggesting the best strategy is to fade future gains, but essentially a 1.31-133 range in place.

[EUROPEAN FX CLOSE] The Dollar finished the week on a high note with buyers enthused by a big contraction in the US trade deficit, and surprise but welcome news from the US banking sector.
