DislikedI think you are not the only one. I see a problem with this eventually for the following reason (please note I am not a "fundamentalist"):
Assuming the US economy leads the world out of recession, the U.S. stock market will be the first to look attractive for purchase. Foreign investors will have to convert their currencies to dollars to buy U.S. stocks. Would this not then drive the dollar higher, given more demand for it?Ignored
DislikedNo.
investors look for cheap stocks, if the usd will be strong by that time , they will even get out of us denominated stocks, etc. but i think you get the picture.Ignored
Dislikedby that time there will be massive treasury bond sells and maybe some rate hikes with no benefit for the usd but for commodity fiats in general.Ignored

DislikedLooking for cheap stocks is a matter of perception. The perceived future is what matters. If, for instance, European investors see a bright future in U.S. equities in the coming months or year and their own equities will lag to a later improvement, then why not buy U.S. equities now for a little ride up before bailing out and repurchasing their domestic equities?Ignored

DislikedInvestors buy a stock when they think it is going to go up....period. The P/E of a stock does assign a "cheap" or "expensive" value to it, but that really has little to do in the short run outlook for a stock.
Today's market action gives us a moment of pause. Why? US stocks moved up nicely and the Euro moved down, almost in lock-step. Was this just a one day market anomoly, or the beginning of a paradim shift? For quite some time the Euro has traded in the same general direction of equities. I believe the markets are considering the possibility...Ignored
DislikedGuys, with just speculation about future money printing from EU, and the current heavy Fed printing, do you think euro has much potential to go lower?Ignored
Dislikedyes but it does need a few screams of 1.4/1.6 usaully before it does..Ignored
Dislikedlooking at the other pairs it is not just the eur/usd stock market/commodities correlation that is all messed up.
the dollar is getting weaker against the swissy, against the pound, against the aud yet stronger versus the yen while the euro is not really getting weaker against other majors...just rangebound activity.
