Im sorry this may not relate with the thread, But Im disturbed.My broker filled me with hugh loss and didnt consider my stop loss I place on friday. Please is this normal or does it has to do with the Gap.thanks.

DX Weekly and Daily Charts

DX moved up on Friday. Weekly low supported by 200 SMA held. Both Daily and Weekly charts are looking bullish. Only a reversal candle on Daily chart will suggest a weakening of the bulls. 1st level of resistance comes in at 85.63... Only a break of the weekly low of 82.63 will suggest that bears are back in action.

very normal.

its better to not have a stop over the weekend....assuming you are not over leveraged then to have one in place.

As a stop will get filled at the "next available price" once the market opens again.

the same would be for a limit order....but it most likely would NOT get filled.

Almost every time i have had an open position over the weekend...it has gone bad for me.

1. I have an open position on friday that is in good profits - there is a gap against me and all my profits go away
2. I have an open position that is close to BE or at a loss - there is a gap against me and i lose even more

IF they open and the market is below your SL then your out at that level, not the SL level.

Trading the GAP is a gamble, GIVE IT UP, close all positions Friday and enjoy your weekend without worry of a huge loss or chance of a huge profit ofcourse, hmmm.

I think this is key. If you are only looking at the 4H TF and not seeing the W on the Daily TF then you are going to miss the long term trend which in fact will be up this week according to that thesis. I don't know if it will GAP up or down today but either way you should be paying attention to the possible upwards movement on the Daily TF retracement it is almost identical to the downward side of this U shape. The larger time frames are key to seeing the bigger picture and to keep you from getting trapped in losing positions.

My daily shows bearish continuation ...looking for a reversal in a bullish retrace in 15min. chart now to enter a short trade.

Currently at 1.3260...no trade.

It went down to negative more than 50 pips after my sl then the market opened. I had a tight sl of 15 anywhere. could that have been the cause

..... explain with numbers what not to do, but Monk already reply that!

If you had a big Loss, means that you did not respect the rules.
Leaving trades open with SL is a very high risk, when seeing week close with big moves.

For now I remain bearish. I will not add more shorts below 1.3433.
Gap started below 1.3233, it is a good Bearish sign, but we must see before London open price there again.
We may see very volatile moves until end of Month, my advice it is for patient ones to wait all up moves to short.

Follow the rules take always PP and do not try to be rich, just increase your account like the chicken eat, grain by grain!!

First market quote from your broker, will cause you to be stopped at that current price, markets not open to your broker until that point, so no point having a SL over the weekend.
