USD/JPY might even be a better buy cause the crosses are gaining and #18.4 could be used.

Was there an #18.4 on Cable in the last european trading session?

To enter short at about 1.9785?

I was short from 1.9765 based on another strategy, but when i saw what i thought was a 18.4, i felt reassured.. Was it false hope? (mind you it worked)

Yes. It was a classsic #18.4 on Cable, USD/CHF and EUR/USD on Tuesday.
As suggested before, the USD/JPY offered the same template trading opportunity on Monday and such a position could still be kept open into Tuesday. (If to consider it on intraweek basis.)

I have a few questions for you for I am reading your book and a few things remain unclear to me...

Do you open a trade as soon as the price breaks the trendline? or do you wait for some sort of confirmation?


and..

What happens when the price passes below and above a trendline multiple times without going in a clear direction


...more questions to come, im almost done the book, almost finished it in one sit down

Igrok,

Just a quick question, would now be a good time to short USD/CHF with the target down round 1.16-1.17? It looks at the top of its downtrend channel on the daily chart, thats why i ask..

Igrok,

big question for you

... can you use your method in any other market besides forex? Alot of your method is based off timing.. in the stock market for example how could you apply what you teach to work just as well as it does in forex. The chart patterns and formations are all the same I assume (correct me on that if I am wrong), but the timing is an important aspect, and can not be applied the same way. Your thoughts???

1. There are not that many templates that recommend trading on the break of a trendline. But since in all cases the level for stops gets defined in advance there is no need to wait for a confirmation.
2. Multiple breaks of any line automatically negate its significance.

Doesn't look like a channel to me. Rather a diamond with yet unclear upper right border or something else not so obvious at the moment. just keep in mind that "opinions lose money". Stay with the market and trade the "probabilities" rather than "analyisis" and "opinions".

Intraday there was a clear signal to trade on #18.4 with tight stops. The change of the direction of the week just added some credibility to that intraday trade.

I guess any charts can be traded on the templates or even on TA in general. Even a cardiogram. Apparenly the time scale is going to be different but it can also be adjusted to a particular chart or a particular market.
I have never been interested in anything other than Forex in live trading, but I also get numerous examples that my students have been able to apply the method successfuly in other financial markets.

Also I have been getting a bunch of different answers from everyone on when the Asia session closes.. It says on your chart examples that the Asia session closes around 12:30 EST and begins at 5:00 EST.. when do you find the best and most profitable trading opportunities using the setups you decribed for that session ?

There is no strategy for Asian session alone as there is nothing specific about it can be singled out. Those strategies based on ADTR are to be applied for 24 hour period and cover the entire trading day.

I'm getting better at identifying patterns, and instead of trying to "fit" price action into shapes, just trying different shapes over charts, i've got to say its extremely interesting, and highly enjoyable! (Yes i may be weird)

Looks like i need a better look at the swissy tho
