Unless the bears make their move soon, the bulls may not only be retesting the last high BUT may be winding up for another run to 13794/13830 level and beyond..

Usd not looking good, last count on their external debt is 21% of the GDP which is humongously high...luckily the costs of usd is only limited in its printing unless of course they run out of ink and paper too.....USA is the only country in the world that can borrow in USD and pay with it too....the world is waiting to see if it is also good to wash away all those toxic waste.

I agree..Inflation has always increase...but this time is not just a single digit inflation. We are looking at inflation so high that to buy a car would cost 3-5 times the value of now. Ofcourse such hyper-inflation doesn't happen overnight...but it eventually will if the fed doesn't start increasing interest rates (i know its painful but it has to be done) and lower spending on consumption (contradict to what the current stimulus objective which is to promote spending). Promoting spending now is a temporary antidote to this crisis...what the US economy really need now is increase interest rates and lower spending. Thats what i think.

hello all and good pippin this week as always.

i have no charts to open this week with...pa is pretty much self explanatory..a range between last weeks high and the partial retracement to 1.3515 as well as the "gap' we all see or not see on our platforms with a few levels of support/resistance in between.

I would like to mention this though as I try to incorporate it as much as I can into my strategy which involves understanding pa. Pa has gapped (or rather moved upwards) over the weekend and the pressure has been to keep pa at a high level, the question is why?

I feel that when the market first reopens sundays price action is based on any fundamental data that has come out during the weekend. In a way its a trigger for what will happen at least early in the week (which explains why sometimes pa hasnt moved much from fridays close as there was probably no fundamentals). This particular weekend there is alot of fundamental pressure for pa to be where it is

Im not sure if anyone mentioned this yet but the big news this weekend has been yet another plan "to be announced before the start of US session by Timothy Geithner" which talks about buying up to 1trillion dollars worth in "troubled assets". This explains greatly why futures are up and as normal the correlation that leads to which is dollar weakness.

The only question remaining is how these news will affect the dollar from now until point of release of news to pa afterwards. Logic says these news should help financials rally and weaken the dollar even more as any such funnymentals has done recently.

Technically...we could still go either way, as said before...only a break of the range we are in will dictate further direction and anything at these levels should be considered scalping at best. Bear or bull bias?...non existent as it is the interpretation of the news that counts and that will be made visible only after Geithner opens his mouth. My advice...keep trading to a minimum with small positions only for now until US session. It is sunday/early monday after all

They don't even need to print it if they don't want to. A large portion of dollars today are traded electronically. Press 0 or press 00 or 000000000000 doesn't make much a difference.

The point that I want to make is that US is not going bankrupt now or anytime soon.
Don't forget that if Obama's plans don't work out the way we want to see, then within 2 years we will have a majority Republican Congress, which then can virtually stop everything that is being undertaken at the moment, including costly health care and energy programs.
But of course I hope it works out because it is very shamefull that we have 46 million people without health insurance.

By the way if you stack up a pile of 1 trillion dollars in new $100 bills, does anyone realize that this pile will be almost 679 MILES HIGH or more than 1,092 KM

i'm looking to short euro/usd as well but it may have to wait.... the euro yen cross broke its very important resistance today at 131 and has a lot of potential to the upside which I think could also lend strength versus the usd. anyone noticing this as well?
