Hello -

I thought that I would get the testing underway. I have set my testing dates from March 2nd to March 21st and all testers should do the same. I'll have my results to you shortly.

Hey Damon. Can you possibly put a version no on the documentation so that we know if we have the latest or not? Both on page one external and also internal at the top of the 1st page of instructions. I suspect this will be changing - I am new to this - perhaps not, tho.

There are a few changes that I need to make to the book, the first of which I also forgot to mention earlier about the testing...

1st - We achieved better results trading 24/7. So you should make these changes. Less drawdown and more profit.

TimeToTrade1 = 0
TimeToTrade2 = 24
FridayClose = 24


I forgot the other one at the moment, but will make the change in the book.

Do we change these settings under "value" when we're optimizing? What about start, step, stop?

Yes, these are permanent settings and so they will get changed under value.

Hey Mary -

Start, step and stop only come into play if you check the far left box on that line. Otherwise these three things mean nohting. Since we will not be checking the box for any of the time settings you can just leave start, step and stop where ever they may be.

We are aware of this phenomenon, and different brokers have different feeds. That is why all optimizing here should be done with FXDD, so we can stay consistent.

in order to get some proper results on my EUR/USD M30 CSF optimisation I'm trying to reproduce the above but only get somewhere close (but not identical) if I switch off Money Management. Is that right?

I had one more question on the document:

Finally, is it possible that with CSF the results are loss making rather than profitable? I don't seem to get any useful results.

Hey Fredella,

It is possible that EurUsd is a loss. This was one of the worst performing pairs of the original slingshot system. GbpUsd was the best, followed by I believe GbpJpy.

Actually now that I think about it if I had my drothers I would only trade Gbp pairs.

If you get a negative result than that is that. Please do the test again next week and if we get negative again, then we can eliminate a pair, t/f and filter. process of elimination.

Hi,

Results for EURUSD 3/02/09 - 3/21/09

FastFilter: 11
SlowFilter: 21

Filter: CSF
Stop Loss: 47
Trailing Stop: 23 (although 0 gives the same result)
Break Even at Profit: 9
Take Profit: 69
Net profit: 244

I had turned money management off. Hope that is right. You will see in the graph that the result is not really consistent. Quite a big loss after a while. Please check the result.
