have you ever noticed how whenever theres a holiday in europe or the US there are usually violent moves in one direction or the other compared to normal standards (this week is not normal by any standard im sure you can agree) yet this never happens during the asian session. either im too inexperienced in my year 4month experience and have not been here when this happened or theres got to be a reason behind this..any ideas?
Low liquidity means anyone with a 1/2 decent account size can move the market.
Not so with high liquidity.

are you suggesting there is high liquidity at this time?..something along the lines of "the calm before the storm"?
This is why the moves can be violent and whippy, because there are people who can move the market with smaller amounts.
High liquidity means there are more major players, so the moves are more clean and trendy so-to-speak.

As its Friday and pub time I couldn't resist to put on a trade on a demo account.
Long at 1.3654 SL 1.3540 Tp 1.3823
Please be aware this is just a demo account trade not real money!
Wouldn't have put money on this trade and go to the pub.
And for the need of info: demo account is $500 in profit for this month so far. The live account is for this year -$240 my trading year started in February hence to the very active party season in Sydney Dec/Jan.
Well now the answer is to switch the profits in demo to live account and all sweet!
To all of you good trading and maybe cu later depending how good the beer is..... cheers

...this topic reminds me of last year when the dow pushed up 1000points in one day on a holiday...i think it was in october....i remember back then LIBOR was a big issue (still is to some extent)...does that impact the high versus low liquidity issue as well?
