Here's my 8 hour chart, next candle closes in about 2 hours. Not quite sure this is the same pin you are seeing?

There are some great traders in the cable thread, I cannot discount their ability. It's more of my and Infinity's style of trading that is so different than most traders. We trade her both ways and most cannot understand why we do it that way. I cannot argue that the trend is your friend, it is, but in the same breathe, she doesn't move in a straight line. Never has and never will. So, with all the ridicule I've taken in the cable thread, and even my own at one point, it's best for me to stay here in my humble aboad. For those that want to see how we do it and maybe learn something along the way, I welcome them with open arms.
Just digging in the trenches like everyone else!

I'm not familiar with Chris Lori, but I don't discount what you've said. It wouldn't surprise me if the major institutions got the news releases before hand.

You check him out at chrislori dot com if you're so inclined. He has some analysis on his site, and he offers some trading workshops - 3 days for like $1495.

Disclaimer - never taken it, don't anyone who has so it could be a bargain and it could be a bust, form your own opinion on that. Have looked at his blog posts which provide some pertinent information, but they are typically fundamentals focused.

My opinion on what I've read on the cable thread is that while there are indeed many skilled traders there, but it doesn't help folks who are learning as you have everyone with their own approach, time frame, etc and a lot of times there are pissing matches over who is right, even though both may be. For example, there could be a long term buy opportunity, yet within that opportunity there are several shorter term trades/scalps. And somewhere in there, some folks seem to get more caught up in being right than helping people understand their trading methodology/reasoning and why they are taking the trades that they are.

So to me this is a much better place as we have skilled traders who use similar approaches, so when you follow the trades, you are learning more about a single, consistent system, instead of getting inundated with bits and pieces of different systems from many different traders.

Again, not knocking any traders on cable thread as there are many that are incredible traders, just don't think that is an environment that is inviting and fostering to folks that are new to trading.
