Thanks. I see your point about USD safe heaven status proping it up lately. News of Japan worsening economy has helped a great deal lately in this especially with almost no interest diferential. Just look at the yen crosses rising. On the other hand EUR could be more sensitive to risk appetite.
Now, if the Japanese effect ran out of steam and some risk appetite would be anticipated to return (contrarian to extreme pessimism now in markets), this could favour Eur in the short-medium term. And of course, this could be drawn on charts in support.

Well... methinks my Kablooie sort of fizzled and went Splat instead.

Oh well. I got back my wayward pips from earlier this evening so now everything is squared up, but it was a very good day. Way too much work for far too few pips this evening tho...

heres something else i find amusing. now i have been watching bloomberg virtually since i started trading. this started mainly to watch out for news releases as they are released faster then FF (not all news though) but later on i learned the correlations between commodities/equities and currencies just listening in. Anyways watching the shows they have on (i especially watch during the us market session)...they have economists give their take on whats going on all the time. Ironically, this is how i learned most of the fundamentals i know...bloomberg tv. Here's the crazy part...in all my time watching....there have always been economists who speculated this or that..up or down...whatever but very rarely where they in agreement and most of their views were based on the longer term picture. During the us session (yesterday) they had at least 10 economists or people who are involved in the markets...who all said the same thing which is rare by all standards. THey all said...us stock market bull rally soon..very soon...in fact it should have started already. Why is this relevant? its hard for 2 people to think the same thing but when you have 10, all saying the same thing..you know somethings cooking. Not to mention the masses that watch bloomberg (myself included). And as we all know by now...us stock market up...dollar down. Twisted huh?

It's an interesting observation about them all agreeing.

However, I must say that one thing I've noticed a lot is that the markets tend to do exactly the opposite of what "everyone" is saying. Some would say that the "experts" preach one thing to drive the market a certain way so they can capitalize on the idiots that follow them. Personally, I don't believe the "experts" are smart enough to pull that off, I think they just tend to guess wrong more than they are right.

generally i agree but this is a special scenario. it goes back to the pessimism you mentioned earlier. No one in their right minds would buy in the stock market these days. Pessimism has built upon pessimism upon pessimism that got us to the levels we are at now, there has been no reason for a bull rally. There still isnt which in theory should continue the selling off of the markets (Citibank at 99 cents...buy anyone..haha). What everyone is looking though is for a trigger to forget about the pessimism and try to get something optimistic started. All is needed is a trigger and who knows..maybe that was it, a few economists/floor traders in agreement. Time will tell.

i dont think the expertes are smart at all. if they were smart how come they didnt see this mess that we are in coming. and how come they havent fixed it. they are not smart enuff, is why

I just got stopped with +20 pips on my long at 2710. Derek showed at his charts wave variant going up to 2750, we had 2740 and rapid move down, propably a lot of sell orders placed there or maybe T/P for longs, anyway it was over 40 pips in about 5 minutes. I can see its going up again and i wonder if its going to reach 2750 like on dereks charts or maybe its just starting to bounce back, and we will see 26xx area again. ~2750 looks like good place to set some shorts because we could have another bottom before it really goes up hard.

.... The Sup/Res is at 1.2700, taken from the bottom of Feb 24ths daily bar, up or down from here, depending on your signals.

time to stick to what i do know for sure....charting

current technical analysis.

the W on the 15min time frame has been almost completed. considering the lowest tip of the left head was 1.2555 and the neckline around 1.26555...it will reach full completion at 1.2755. A nice uptrend (red trendlines) has formed during the formation of this W. Currently the upper wall is close to 1.2765 which historically has acted as a strong S/R level which may prove as a good place to sell. If we break this uptrend to the downside..the first level to be watched is 1.2655 as that was the last resistance broken before this nice trend up (the neckline). At that point longs may come into play or if broken...1.2625 comes into play again which has acted as a very strong S/R level for so long where longs may be reloaded if it proves to be strong support now. Any lower then that...so much for a bullish euro. Personally im flat and will remain flat until either 1.2765 gets reached (the upper wall of this uptrend where i may sell) or if 1.2625 comes back into play. Right now its still too risky for me and selling (going against the trend) before this upwards channel gets broken is too much of a gamble. Good pippin all

One thing is very funny,

Based upon what I read everywhere there is this rumor that 90 - 95 % loses money in this market. I don't know where that is based on but I guess there is some truth in it. I don't know for sure.

Based upon what I read in this thread the opposite is true.
Almost everyone is posting winning trades and almost no one is posting losing trades.
The only ones posting losing trades are the real experienced traders.

So I guess all the beginners and less regular posters are the best traders in the world, because they always win.
