I am not familiarly with COT Charts.

Wow, now that's some real intuitive analysis.... Feel free to throw in a chart or two, or better yet, a real purpose for your quote.

I did pretty much the same thing...My SL is pretty tight, an my TP is much higher. Plus I plan on being at my computer when it opens, so I am confident that the worst case scenerio would be a small percentage loss. Holding over the weekend is not usually my thing, but I believe that I used the best Money Management plan I could given my belief that we will see at least a temporary rise before any downtrend begins. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, if not I'm happy

I hear that Las Vegas casinos are reducing the risk reward ratio to something around 100000:1, it's another option for some "traders" that play nostradamus with forex.

Brown nosers suck in Vegas. They rule in Forex, if they smell the right arses... (non-commercials).

On another note, that C.O.T information is very important, i've been using it since I got into this, throw away the commercials stats, they only use it for hedging/risk control, but take in consideration the non-commercial positions (aka institutional). Just have in mind that C.O.T data is weekly and taken on every Tuesday and announced 3-4 days later... I use it as a trend confirmation or trend change (flip) warning.

The only part of the article that stood out to me was their deficit, which appears to be higher than the US. Concerning the pair that we all trade and or follow the Euro does not have the stablilty that the dollar does in the current crisis. When the news becomes less important in the US and everyone starts to focus more on Europe and the European banks they are going to have some problems that could be far worse than that of the US. Everyone has opinions but you can't avoid the facts.

That's a recurring fundamental discussion, based on some speculation:

These so called "anal ysts"... well they can "say" anything, they're payed to do that, it's an off breed of certain tv reports and journalists...

In a worst case scenario in the euro area(that is different from Europe), if an eastern european country defaults the impact would be minimal, not the same on the swiss franc though...
The ECB just doesn't print money like US does, it's a different method than others, while so many criticize the lack of flexibility or limited decision power the ECB has, on the other hand it's a pretty much solid grounded currency, based on strict rules (with a "tolerance" )

US measures have been, to say the least, ineffective, traders are still shorting stocks and looking for safe havens. So criticising ECB for not reacting as fast as the US, may not be a well supported argument, judging by the results the US measures have had so far, even more when the most seen opposing argument is to let the markets settle this on themselves.

The fact is no one knows the right way to solve this, and we're in a "pay to play" game... tough times... :s

Now don't get me wrong, it's bad for ALL of the world, but there's no race here to see who is better than who, and I hate to see this recurring stupid "battle".

Every open market country in the world thrives on trade with its partners, so it's not on any ones mind to wish for the others demise.

This alone is most concerning for the fate of the USD.

It will eventually come back to bite...

EU has rallied quite impressively on Friday, but the market has run into formidable resistance by the 20-Day SMA to open the latest minor pullback. The market remains locked in a strong downtrend and has been unable to close above the 20-Day SMA for the entire 2009. Only a close above the 20-Day will ultimately delay the downtrend and suggest that we could be in the process of carving out a material base. Until then, I continue to sell into rallies.

Any thoughts?

I would say - considering the gains it made after it dropped the first few years of its existance.

He didn't hate anybody and BTW he is dead.

And when he was alive he was an Economist, they consider numbers not people.

But give it some more time and he might turn out to be right. What then?
